I cannot understand why you are both suddenly complaining about this after all these months.
Perhaps you would like to suggest an alternative that would make sense and avoid members privileges they have enjoyed for months being withdrawn? Please don't say 'change the colour' unless you can think of one positive thing to support that.
I have already stated, I really don't give a damn about what new users get - I have VIP, it doesn't affect me. However, since this is in Feedback I will put my view across.

My point is, changing the colour originally was a pointless thing to do, considering the user privileges could have been changed without changing the colours. It just seemed pointless, and was some lame attempt to make 'new users feel better'.

With this, I don't disagree that much. What I do disagree with is the need to oppose it. I would have joined you in opposing it had the Feedback thread still been here and the change not been enacted yet. But now that it has changed, and I don't think that it is significantly altering the Habbox experience, I personally have moved on and instead will argue about other changes that have more impact on the forum, instead of what I consider unwise changes that, on the whole, don't really matter that much.

However the only time I ever use join date is when they make a comment on how Habbox is run, because then it is valid (assuming that the account does not belong to a returning user). Otherwise, I judge their point based on the logic they use and the validity of the points they make.

    What a novel concept.
I knew people would disagree when I posted it - but time at something does generally give more respect etc.

Look at a school. What happens if a year 7 'starts' on a year 11? (not sure what it is in America). In a gang, what would happen if a new member has completely opposite views to someone who has been in the gang for a long time (and is likely to have befriended the leaders)?

As much as people want to believe new members are just as well respected as older members, it isn't true.

And Oli, don't even question my respect for newer members.

lolol bronze, iron, steel, mithril etc!

Anyway yeah, I'm not really fussed either way. Would having a bronze rank make me feel less special? No, users' attitude towards me for having said rank would and it'd take more than a name change of the ranks to change that. Despite that, like nvr said (in perhaps his shortest post ever? where's the essay?), now that it's been done, it's a very small thing to really change back imo.

I hate to interrupt here. But did I make this thread? No. Is this thread in a public feedback forum? Yes. So me giving my feedback on it is fine, right? Correct.

Year 7 versus Year 11 has a very significant difference, they actually correspond to age and overall experience in life. Experience in using the forum is not a prerequisite for me to respect you. If someone asks me how the user ranks system works, that doesn't mean that I'm going to think that they have nothing useful to say about the political situation in the UK.

Also, I categorically object to your analogy of gang members. That's exactly what the forum is seeking to avoid, a cliquey, hierarchy-based gang.

It was just a situation in life where the same thing happens. In fact, why not suggest a situation where a new person is just as respected as an older person? Even in a work place, a new person is the 'newbie' - and will often be given the joibs no one else wants to do.

Well I don't think it was lame at all and I feel it has worked. So agree to disagree on this one.
