&&& to be honest, I take all my tips from laura, who has also posted on here. & her advice has improved my strength and made me gain/lose weight in an appropriate way in accordance with what I wanted to achieve - I'd listen to her if I was you but that's up to you! Saying that, if you are already eating too much for what you are burning just from your resting metabolic rate then chances are you will be eating enough even when you do exercise.

I posted in a thread about losing belly fat with some calculations which would help you if you wanted to take a look.

    Hope this helped x
    Discovered your post;

And it really does have alot of information, i could never normally know how much fat i needed daily (i managed to work out the protein i needed luckily ) but this does offer alot of useful information.

    Also Micheal...

    Trust you to mention sex.

Funilly enough (rumour has it lololol) Sex burns the equvalent amount of calories as running a mile.
However im lazy, i dont run, nor do i jog..
    I Skip.

10 minutes of Skipping burns the same amount of calories as a 30 minute jog

    Good luck micheal.

Why? because if you starve your body for long periods of time you wont loose weight at all, if anything you'll put weight on, you wont be burning fat in the time your starving yourself between meals, instead your be burning muscle (your body will burn muscle instead of fat because it will give it more of what your body needs)

When i say snack i dont be binge up on chocolate, sweets etc.

Eat fruit. Apples are highly reccomended when loosing weight - The fact that an average apple counts as roughly 30% of your GDA of fibre (which helps the rate you digest foods and also helps your metabolism).

Apples also produce something called 'Pectim' its virtually a sticky substance that flows through your blood, which also helps lower your cholestral levels.

Drink Water; Again if your well hydrated loosing weight should be swift, aim for a minimum of 3 litres a day.

    Good luck =].
Oh for **** sake you've posted this drivel before. Catabolism (breakdown of muscle tissue for energy) and starvation do not occur after a few hours. Your metabolism increases over a 24-48 hour fast and eating more infrequently actually increases muscle mass... http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17413096

Conclusion: Your advice to snack between meals is counterproductive - you've posted this crap before, please stop regurgitating rubbish you've read on the internet.

    Also, it's pectin not pectim.

You're not the only person in this thread to have said this so I am by no means singling you out, just quoting you to say that this is a load of rubbish, infrequent meals (provided enough is eaten in that meal) are better than frequent meals. 1-2 meals a day (or the occasional 1 day fast) help maintain insulin sensitivity, stimulate muscle growth and testosterone levels and prevent excess insulin from: causing your blood glucose levels to fluctuate throughout the day and preventing satiety.

defo DON'T do that, you need to have 6 small meals a day to keep your body working & your metabolism fast. if you just east 3 big meals a day your body will start to store that fat

6 small meals a day, a couple mile run per day (start with a walk on the first couple days, then jog for 2, then eventually run after about a week)

No, see my post above. I don't know why people like you feel compelled to spread ******** with no references to back it up.

Wig do you find great pleasure attempting to put people down? People try and help with the knowledge they have, or have learned. Believe it or not you're not always right. It's a teenage forum, people aren't going to have advanced knowledge on the subject. All the drivel seems to be the actual proper way of doing it, simplest forms work well enough for me. Just stop being a **** to everyone....

Eat small, frequent meals throughout the day. When you consume large meals 2 or 3 times a day your metabolism can actually slow and you can become lethargic. By spreading your calorie consumption evenly over a 24 hour period you keep your metabolism more active and you burn more calories.

The fact that you gain weight easily is proof that your body likes to shift into fat-storage mode at the drop of a hat, and going too low on calories is one of the easiest ways to trigger that reaction (often referred to as starvation mode). Don’t fall for the mistaken idea that the less you eat, the more you’ll lose—that’s just not how your body works. Staying within your recommended calorie range will keep your internal furnace stoked so that you have more capacity to burn stored fat.

Eating 6 meals spread out over every 2-3 hours prevents overeating, Eating more frequently has been shown to boost your metabolism, thereby burning more calories

Eat less, exercise more. It really is that simple. Eating little and often helps too as it means your metabolism is constantly on he go.

If you burn more energy (kcals) than you consume you will lose weight. That's literally all there is to it.

Burning approx 3500 kcals more than you eat will lose you about a pound (a 14th of a stone) in weight.
