Seriously, I don't see why any one would get over the top about moaning about a couple of -reps that you can asked to be removed if you wanted to complain so badly.

Right tbh I only ever created this in the first place to suggest tougher rules on -repping, and this is getting out of hand. End of arguement tbh.

The Rep system is fine how it is. I haven't received a -rep for months, and when I did, it was because I was being a ****. In that thread, most of the people were pointless posting so the person who -repped had every right to do so. As Dave mentioned, the thread was closed for pointless posting as well, so the argument does hold some ground. The -Reps should not be removed unless you actually gave some CC. The Admins are doing a perfect job, everytime I've had a silly -rep, they have removed it within 48 hours, although it's usually quicker than this...

I've had loads of rude and targeting -reps, and like I said before, some rude ones have been given to me from forum moderators. I reported it, and as far as I'm aware, it hasn't been removed.

The -Reps are probably justified, and if not, there is always the report tool if you believe you are being unfairly targeted by staff members...

I haven’t read the past 10 pages which are full of arguments as unfortunately I don’t have that much spare time. I haven’t been part of that argument either and I’m pretty sure I’m entitled to post my opinion in a feedback thread, cerys… I’m 100% certain that if someone –repped you and left a message saying “-Rep for being you” then it would dealt with immediately, let’s not pretend that it wouldn’t be.

Firstly, OP didn't ask for CC, therefore it's not a requirement so that's bloody rubbish. Most people post in gfx forum in the hope of praise not critisism anyway. 2ndly, it was closed down because the thread held no value as it werent an alteration, not cause of pointless posting.

Perfectly valid. I don't think people understand what rep actually is - it's a form of user moderation allowing us to reward or punish other members (albeit in a small way that doesn't really make much difference) for their activity. Also consider that rep is short for reputation, and obviously someone just not liking you DOES impact your reputation just like people who do like you will impact it in a more positive way. With the amount of friendly crackjuice dribbling from the lips of most staff members it's extremely reasonable to assume that most of you +rep each other all the time for being friends, which is fine, but you shouldn't then suggest that -repping for not being friends is a bad thing.

Yes cerys legend competely agree with that -rep should be checked before given, not sure if a depart is needed though, just maybe some unbiased person to do it. + ikr -rep is never really removed.

people with high rep power are always -repping people with low rep power to stop them getting up

lmao this definitely does not happen and has not happened since early 2007 when admittedly we did actually do this for laughs. It may well be that you've made an enemy of someone with a higher rep power than you (not really difficult is it...) but that is not justification for this statement. You are wrong, the entire premise for this thread is wrong, and everyone is free to rep whoever they like however they like.
