I'm sure that somebody considering spending £13,000 on a watch which will be outdated in a couple of years can afford both. The only thing I would say about the £13,000 watch is that I question whether someone with the cash would go for an Apple "Watch Edition", as opposed to an exceptionally good timepiece from Tag, Rolex, Dior etcetera. It is a bit like cars and the talk of tech companies getting in on cars - it just doesn't make sense to me.

This new wave of smart watches is so baffling to me - the fact that non watch wearers are considering buying them even more so. Will be interesting to see how apple'a standard model of planned obsolescence translates in the world of watches and wearable accessories. People will pay that much for a slightly tweaked phone every year but will they do the same for a new watch design? I'm not so sure. Can't see apple taking control of the well established luxury market either but good luck to them.

Am I the only one who thinks the display is going to be ridiculously small + if they make it bigger it'll look stupid and would be far too 'bulky'

The ones with a £13,000 price tag are made of gold and will be available in limited units, so I don't find that shocking at all. They actually look pretty good though, and there will definitely be people who are willing to pay that amount for the exclusivity of it all. As for the MacBooks, I'd say they're targeted at people who are into luxuries and see their devices as more of a fashion accessory. It's not a bad move, the gold one is super gorgeous and I'm sure they'll sell loads of those. They've done some incredible engineering with it too. Personally I find the announcement of ResearchKit most exciting though, and cannot wait to see its impact on medical research.
It's perfect for apple fans because it links to their phone etc. I'd only go for apple watch as I'd only go for apple phones and i'd want them to link. I want to get one to see what it's like but I don't think i'd wear it too often.. I can imagine it getting broken easily some how
Lol the only Apple Watch that I thought looked pretty nice is £850. Really.
That makes it £60 more than the 128gb iPhone 6 Plus....
