One thing which bugged me about the episode:

Ben said that after the sky turned purple (S2), they lost communications and couldn't go back to the real world. Yet Tom was in New York -after- Michael had left the island so mid-S3 mebe? How was he able to do this if Ben said they couldn't go back n' forth?

Ben is clever, he knew that Rousseau and Alex's bf would put Alex's life before theres and she knew that saying that she was Ben's daughter is the only way out of being killed. Unless Ben wanted Alex to be caught by whoever it is that is firing the shots..

Well I think it ties with Michael being unable to kill himself. Jack ended up feeling guilty and tried to commit suicide (possibly several times) so he may want to return to the Island to set things straight. Maybe it's something else altogether.

Sky have changed the airdate for the resumption of Season 4 from 27th April to 4th May. This has been done so that there is no break in scheduling unlike the US. The Season finale will now show on June 1st.

Edit: It's actually the 4th May according to the new Sky Timetable.

What I don't understand is the black smoke, it makes the whole programme less realistic, when he just went in the back and activated it and killed them all. Nearly cried though when Alex died and he said goodbye :(

Here's the way I potentially see it, chronologically...

1. Alex is shot and Ben says "He changed the rules."

2. Ben goes into his secret room and opens what one assumes to be some sort of teleportation room.

3. Ben ends up in the desert. Finds Sayid. Sayid kills for Ben for first time. Ben smiles. One of the men who attacked the island for Widmore and responsible for killing Alex is now dead.

4. Sayid's FF -- he is picking off the rest of this military team who attacked the island. Ben informs Widmore "You changed the rules."

5. Once the whole team is dead, Ben returns to the island 2004 (or is it?).

6. This "break in time" unleashes the Smoke Monster. The Smoke Monster (a la Stephen King's Langoliers) scoops up everyone Ben has had killed in the future.

In other words, there is some sort of course correction going on. When Ben manipulates time, he unleashes some sort of power.

When Faraday talks about everything being relative -- and if the drowned doc is still alive on the freighter -- that can only mean the island is actually more in the future than the outside world.

So if Ben is moving from the future to the past (2005 Tunisia) and is killing off people in the past, then the Smoke Monster is actually taking those who are already dead. (Course correcting.)

So when Widmore tells Ben that he can't kill him, this is probably because either (1) Widmore is Ben's constant or (2) If Widmore dies that will in someway unleash the Smoke Monster on everyone on the island, including Ben.

That somehow makes sense in a weird way haha :rolleyes:

RIGHT MY THEORY (HALF OF IT IS TRUE) i just seen promo for next episode where the oceanic 6 get off the island. They all think claire is dead so they take aaron off the island with them to be safe (they think she is dead but really she is with christian shepard). They think Jin is dead but he isnt he is still on the island dunno how they think he is dead we will have to find out (sawyer, locke, jin, claire survive it has been corfirmed.) The last flashforward (last episode) is like 3 months off the island. My BIG theory is that they get sent back to the island kill those idiots and they live happily every after and can go to the island whenever they want.

So..Jin dies? John dies? Micheal Dies? What on earth!

Why did Jin have to die? That's not cool. I hope he isn't really dead.

What actually shocked me in that scene is the losties didn't give 2 craps about the others on the freighter. There were so many people brought on the boat yet no-one cared about them. I am just dam glad Desmond made it off, or I would have been very pissed off :eusa_whis.

Fantastic finale, lots to discuss so lets see where this takes us first :).

1. Jin sucks xD Lol well he doesnt but he will be dead as Sun visits his grave 3 years on in the flash forwarded meaning if he was alive he would of been dsicovered by then ( he wouldnt of wen twith the island because of the timing and dsitance).

2. Micheal is dead his time was up he had been trying to kill his self for a long time so christain finally let him go.

3. John apparently committed sucide so Sayid says. But maybe this is an act for John locke to hopefulyl get the others back (though they wouldnt really be bothered about him).

4. The people on Heli didnt care about other son boat because only sayid really met any of them because he didnt care abotu them (remember his job he a torturer so he can distance himself easily).

5. Fianlly desmond and penny yay about time. Bless.

6. Apparently Boone, Libby, Walt, Marvin (forgot last name) will be in next season, Claire wont but will be in 6th.

I read something on the richard thing which is the 'recruiter and welcomer' of the others. He never seems to age. I read that he travels in time ie when he visits locke when he is younger and when ben is younger.

Also when Locke was in the coffin thing the thing that confused me was when ben was like 'you have to bring everybody back including him' or something like that which suggests that Locke got off the island at some point. I thought maybe he moved the island or something but then i thought ohyeah BEN. So i dunno, because i thought that Locke didn't want to leave beacuse when he was on the island his back was like all fixed.

I think that maybe the oceanic 6 could return to the island because i don't see them writing out all six characters and if they're not on the island anymore all they can do is like, boring stuff.

I'm HOPING that Michael and Jin etc aren't all dead but i suspect that some of them probably are. Also i hope that even though he's found Penny and all that Desmond will return but i kinda seriously doubt it.

He couldn't die because the Island still wanted him for something, the bomb ofc, but as it was about to explode, Christian appeared and told Michael he could go now (die). So Christian was representing the island.

maybe when he left the island after a bit, time caught up with him to the point where he may have actually died, but because he was on the island he didnt. (Sometime while on the island he was killed?)

Or he suddenly lost the use of his legs again while walking across the road and got run over. :P

the 'zombie season' is an ongoing joke among the producers, damon and carlton. they say that season 7 will be the zombie season in their podcasts. it's just a joke implying that it would be stupid for them to go draw out the series longer than nessesary, because it would lead to stupid story lines, like zombie stories.
