I really enjoyed season 2. Especially when they starting showing the other part of the plane. I was like 'WHAT.. THERES MORE PEOPLE!!?!?'

I think first, second and third seasons where best. All this time travel stuff etc is abit far-fetched but I love how it all ties in and actually makes sense!

I think the thing with Lost is that because there are so many questions, people keep watching it.

All shows like PB, 24 are unique, but Lost just has way more questions. The writers give us 50 new questions for every old question they answer.

Nah, I don't think Sayid is. It was so weird that the "Nemesis of Jacob was the Smoke monster, sort of a cop out but still. At least they didn't say it was some evil spirit crap. What's going on with the whole plane landing things, is that like the new flashback/forward thing?

I assume its like... what would of happened. My theory is that they put time back to how it was spose to be, but the original 'cast' are still where they are but they have fixed time for everyone else in the real world.

Finally had some time to watch E01/2 and I must say I was really pleased with how they started the season. If you didn't catch on that the smoke monster was Esau/dark shirt after the finale last season then shame on you. The hints were all over the place :x

No idea. It possibly will and they obviously wouldnt just end it as "they're on a god island", it'd be a little more complex. I'd just like it to be something completely unexpected

What I don't get is this.. why was the 'others' village and the big toe underwater in the flashsideways things? I really aren't getting that at all.. if 815 didn't crash then surely Ben etc would still be there? Which sort of leads me to believe that they aren't flash-sideways at all but what would have happened if that device had actually worked. But then again Miles said Juliet meant the device did work.. i'm confused :( Nothing new there when it comes to Lost I guess.

I really aren't getting that at all.. if 815 didn't crash then surely Ben etc would still be there? What i believe to have happened is that the device worked, but b
if it did work then they would have never been on the island to detonate it so you say it cant go off so they have to be on the island, but if there on the island they would of blown the bomb up and so forth so what we have is a paradox. Basically in scifi talk what would happen if a paradox was to happen is that a diffrent dimension would be created to host both possibilites.

If you couldn't understand that then heres another example.
Say you went back in time and killed your Mother before she gave birht to you, then you could of never been born to kill her, so she cant die and gives birth, but then you would kill her. and so on.

Who's to say who actually knew what would happen. The Faradays have been wrong before so let's say Daniels 'calculations' were wrong then whos to say there can't be a 'past' happening while they are going on in the future.

Needless to say, I think it's just showing us to show us what WOULD have happened.

I like the way its all come together actually. I was a bit sceptical about the man in black being Jacob's foil especially since Jacob has featured quite heavily throughout whereas he was a seemingly new character.
However when they revealed him as the black smoke, so much stuff made sense - manifestations etc etc. Also it gave him a decent history throughout the show to rival Jacob's.

We still don't know who he is, not in the literal sense but I mean why he is there, what he's doing etc etc. Oh yeah and he's the smoke monster.
Still dying to see the big picture and now I can't help feel that the only person who actually knows and is willing to explain the truth is Richard now that Jacobs out of the way. It's hard to imagine that the man in black is correct and that oceanic 815's coming to the island was all for no reason at all so I'm still wanting answers.

according to the man in black, jacob brought them to the island so that he could choose one of them to take over the role of protecting the island. the man in black says that there is no reason to protect the island but we dont (and possibly wont) know jacob's side of the story

Read a nice little theory that the alternate timeline is really the original timeline and what's happened on the show is a result of Jacob's interfering in people's lives, even including the likes of Ben and Dogen. Although I can't seem to think of a way that Jacob's actions would in any way affect Jack having a son.

Each have knowledge about the selection of 'candidates' and both locations have lists of candidates in different handwriting. Also worth noting the Cave's names are written in white, and the lighthouse in black. Also worth noting that a cave is dark and underground, whereas a lighthouse is aboveground and it's specific purpose has to do with light. Light/Dark etc etc.
Another big point to note about the lighthouse is that the sound the compass wheel makes when it clunks round with the pulling of the chain is very similar to the mechanical noises that the black smoke makes (this gives weight to the theory that the lighthouse is actually the Man in Black's base). Also giving weight to that theory is the fact that the images projected on the mirrors closely resemble the images of people's lives that flash up within the black smoke when he 'judges' people (See Eko). People are also speculating that Jacob intended for Jack to smash the mirrors, possibly because they belong to MIB or possibly because the lighthouse is the way off the island the Man in Black offered Sawyer in the cave.
Speculation is that when the fire in the lighthouse is lit, the user is transported to the location of the image projected on the mirrors. This makes sense as the places are all places where Jacob has visited when making contact with the candidates: Jin and Sun's wedding, Jack's home etc etc.
It's possible that Jacob used the lighthouse to compile a list of candidates, each degree on the compass (360) relating to an individual location where they can be found > Jacob goes to the location and finds out who the candidate is > writes their name on the degree on the wheel to which their name corresponds. Also, when a candidate dies, their image ceases to show on the mirrors, hence why only some images appaear. All only speculation of course but all possibilites imo.
