I just switched to the manga cause I couldn't be bothered waiting for new anime :P

Im actually really getting into the manga! It's not that bad reading it online once you get into a rhythm and the story's great :D Atm I'm on somewhat of a filler but it's a Soul Society flashback which is actually really interesting AND I'm getting info on Urahara's past. YAY.
You might be on the Bleach Gaiden bit. It's set 110 years before the events of Bleach. It explores Urahara's past and the origin of the Vizards. Sounds very interesting, I must read the manga at some point. Without spoiling anything, how far ahead is the manga from the anime?

Not very far lol. Like, in terms of Anime episodes, if they made the uptodate manga into anime, excluding that flashback, it'd be 2-3 episodes at a push. With the flashback that's maybe another 1-2 episodes.
EDIT: I forgot bout all the fights lol. I think they could pad them out easily in the Anime, and if they designated a couple episodes for each fight, meh, that's quite a lot more.

I bet you still prefer the anime though? :P The only manga I've read that surpasses it's anime is Claymore. It's a close call, but it's simply the best manga ever! Bleach reminds me a lot of Claymore.

Yeah, the fights would last a long while. Guess the manga's still got a long way to go to put some distance between itself and the anime then. :eusa_wall

Yh, I tried watching that filler after Hueco Mundo aswell, and the plot holes just annoyed me.

*****, tis true the current episodes are vBad, but the ones up to it (excludes Bounto lol) are good. The manga is good too, I now have to wait for it to come out on a weekly basis aswell which is annoying but owell. :P

The long awaited second movie, The Diamond Dust Rebellion, was released a few days ago. A lot of high hopes for this movie, so theres some good Bleach to watch instead of the crappy fillers. :) You can watch it on Veoh.com.

I got half way through and it went all out of sync, so now I'm watching it in parts, gotta wait for them to load now though. :eusa_wall It was released 3rd september, people seem to be uploading it everywhere today.
The first half has been quite interesting, but kinda boring really. Nothing much has happened. Maybe because theres no Zaraki and Yoruichi. :(

I'll watch Diamond Dust Rebellion tomoz if i hav the time, I wish they'd just hurry up and finish that damn filler on the anime. I want to continue the arrancar arc -criiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii.
The manga is ok yeh, but atm it's just like a lot of VCs fighting Flaccion which is doesn't really reveal anything new for the VCs and is more about showing off how creative the flaccion are. :P They COULD be covering Ichigo/Ulquiorra or Aizen+Touzen+Ichimaru+'Rank3-'Arrancar/All captains and where da fudge are the Vizards. I miss Shinji.

The finale is awesome.
Ichigo uses his vizard powers. Byakuya owns. Zaraki cuts a building in half. Ikkaku uses bankai. Yoruichi and Soifon kick ***. I like how Orihime did absolutely nothing in this movie, lol. Chad had about one line and Ishida appeared for like 30 seconds. :P
It was another Kariya like ending. :P Kusaka says "What if I'd..." then dies. -_-
Starts of interesting, but at the same time a bit boring, but the finale is worth it. 8/10
Finale of what? The series actually ends?

I thought memories of nobody was 'ok' but it wasn't my favourite, this however was great. It focused on the characters at hand and their wasn't many people put in just for the sake of it if you get me, well obvs some were, but for the most part they didn't talk.
I thought it was great when they were ontop of Kusaka's castle in Sereiti and everyone was just giving it their all. I loved Rukia in action and Ikkaku aswell, not to forget Zaraki - he was vGood for the short times he was in it - and Ayesegawa, wish he would have used his true Shikai but meh. Loved Shunsui and the comment Kusaka made about him - the sharpest mind's eye which contradicts his appearance completely.
It was well put together aswell, considering that it's been out for a while and this is the first we are seeing of it, there were very few plot holes at all, the only one I picked up on was that it was after the Arrancar arc (proof = Ishida's Sparrow bow) yet Chad attacked with his Defense arm, tut tut.
Still I thought it was a great film, 2 hours of pure Bleach.

The best part was Kusaka's transformation. As soon as he'd transformed Zaraki was already there fighting him. That was so awesome, I've never seen Zaraki move to fast. :P Oh and when they're all about to attack Toshiro and Kusaka but then Ichigo interrupts. Byakuyas expression was like "What? Ichigo again, for **** sake! Piss off!" I loved Rukia in action as well. I wish Ayasegawa would do more though, we still haven't seen his full potential.

Anyway, @ Axel - It was obvious (to me anyway) that he was going to be a baddie. He's a filler character and if my theory of the fillers occuring before the Hueco Mundo arc, then it fits perfectly because if they're going to introduce this made up character into a position as big as a Gotei 13 Team Captain or whatever, he's going to need to be removed before the fillers end. I had predicted that this would happen beforehand but I'm still not sure what place in time this occurs but I think it's before.
And @ the movie spoilers - omg spoilers pls. :(

I don't download anime anymore, I watch all my stuff on veoh. I was going to download the torrent off dattebayo, but I didn't feel like waiting 1 day and 6 hours. :P Dattebayo aren't the makers by the way, they're just fansubbers. :P
Well when two people who have seen the movie take part in a discussion theres obviously going to be fillers! :P
I think they don't use Ayasegawa a lot because if they did, really, he would win every time. :rolleyes:
But we still haven't seen his potential. :P Ikkaku is stronger than Ayasegawa, so it's not like he's the second Zaraki or anything. :P

But really the ranks are obvs crap cause we know that Ikkaku is captain-capable yet he's denying reponsibility... and what we've seen of Ayasegawa is, as you say, not his potential. If his shikai can drain an opponents reiatsu to the point where he wins there and then, why should his bankai, should he achieve it, not be enough to defeat Ikkaku without a second glance :rolleyes:

On a side note, I was watching the anime the other day, the episode where Kifune kindof spars with Kira after letting out Mayuri's hollows, and it annoys me that some people, namely Kifune and Ikkaku lol, have such impractical Shikai/Bankai. It's just that Kira has such a cool, powerful AND practical, I think that in a fight where only skills were at hand size and shape would play a much bigger part in who won.

He couldn't have. The film was released ages and ages ago, so the "true name" of his zanpakuto wasn't revealed or realised at the time that the movie was released.

Yeah, but ranks still seem to go from strongest to weakest. :rolleyes_ Ikkaku's obviously the leader out of the two and since Ayasegawa knows about Ikkaku's bankai, I'm pretty sure Ikkaku knows about Ayasegawa's shikai. They were together before they became shinigami's afterall. Also Ikkaku has mastered bankai, Ayasegawa has not. Ikkaku is obviously the strongest, in rank and strength.

Ayasegawa used his zanpaktou's true name in the Soul Society arc I believe, when he, Ikkaku and Zaraki sided with Ichigo and friends. Zaraki took care of Tousen and the fox-face captain while Ayasegawa fights (and defeats, using said zanpaktou) Shūhei Hisagi and Ikkaku fights Kira I think.
why u talkin bout him anyway? he sux.

ye I quite like Ikkaku, he has the best attitude towards fights. The only thing which I don't like is his Bankai just cause its seems impractical.
One thing off topic I'd like to ask to see if anyone can hazard a guess, is what 'powers' has Aizen granted to himself, Ichimaru and Tousen? You learn in the manga that:
Aizen gave the Vizards their hollow powers during an experiment
but he seemed surprised at the outcome, which leaves me thinking what he expects from the Hougyoku? There's obviosuly been a massive increase in power in all three ex-captains but there's been no evidence that they've gained hollow powers as of yet. Please post any theories. :)

I never said the movie was set at a different time from it's release, but it could be. I am just saying that the movies don't always have to fit into the Bleach series timeline, as it is possible to cause plot holes. Actually, now I'm thinking about it, it has. Orihime was kidnapped while Ichigo was learning to control his vizard powers. What's she doing in the movie? ;) Also, while Ichigo was learning to control his vizard powers he was all annoyed and depressed until he got into Heuco Mundo, why's he so happy in the movie? PLOT HOLES!

I dunno if I like this idea cause it kinda ruins the rankings people have already about who could beat who in a fight etc, and how there's all these 'problems' in SS and that, that could be dealt with by these 'higher level' peeps.

I've never heard anything about a rank higher than a captain. Bleach has to keep introducing stronger and stronger people though, otherwise it will lose it's appeal. It's what every on-going fighting anime does. Look at Dragonball Z for example.
Villains: Kid Buu > Super Buu > Evil Buu > Buu > Cell > Freeza > Ginyu Force > Vegeta > Nappa > Raditz, etc, etc, etc...
Heroes: Veggeto > SS3 Gotenks > SS2 Gotenks > SS1 Gotenks > SS3 Goku > SS2 Goku > SS2 Vegeta > SS2 Gohan, etc, etc, etc...
Same thing applies to Bleach but I can't be bothered to type out the all the characters from strongest to weakest lol.
So really I wouldn't be surpised if there was a rank higher than captain. There are already many people who are stronger than half of the captains anyway. :P

It was mentioned in the manga mini-series, Turn Back the Pendulum. A captains meeting was held to basically instate Kisuke as a captain to replace another captain who's name I can't remeber, who got promoted to 'King's Guard' (from captain level).

Yeah manga chapters are released every week but lets do some maths. I'll use Claymore as an example.
The anime follows the manga until half way through volume 11. Thats 61 chapters (by this time the anime has 23 episodes). Chapters are about 30 pages long, Bleach chapters are 20 pages long. 61 x 30 = 1830, which is about right considering there are roughly 170 pages per manga volume. 1830 / 20 = 91.5. So 91 Bleach chapters = roughly 23 episodes. Since the filler arc started, around 60 manga chapters have been released. If 91 chapters is 23 episodes, then 60 chapters is around 15 episodes. They can drag out the fights a bit longer, add more dialogue and just generally take longer with things, but I doubt the anime will push 20 episodes relying on the manga material that's out at the moment.
Actually thats just under the length of the usual arc's, but they're going to run out of manga material too fast. There has never been a 20 episode single arc, they've always had another 20-ish episode arc that followed on after it. In 20 episodes time they're going to have to cut to filler again. Hence why this arc's going to seem so short. Hmm, I hope they don't make this a habbit. I want long arc's, even if I have to wait. Not short ones.

Possibly, but I assume they plan months ahead otherwise they wouldn't make much of a production company. :P I reckon they're either going to do short arcs from now on so the anime can show the manga parts more often, or that they're only doing this now because what comes next is mega awesome and they know the fans want it.

Yeah, Bleach definitely was the best when it started but the best episode was 121, during the Arrancar arc, and Hueco Mundo is gonna kick ass when it picks up again.

It will defo come back around the 15th, the filler arc is nearly done (looking to be a not bad finale) with the next episode due out on the 7th I do believe.
Manga isn't that far ahead at all tho as has be mentioned. coulple of fights tho, if they milk them it should be ok. :D I'm on 328 of the manga atm, looks good, anyone else that far along?

About 5 million fights about to kick off, the matches are totally unfair imo and it looks like the captains and there VCs are gonna get it handed to them BAD. The only fight that looks somewhat close is Shunsui&Ukitake vs Stark. Even then I doubt VERY much they stand a chance at all. To top it off, that stupid old man, Yamamoto, doesn't seem to be fighting anyone which is stupid because Aizen, Ichimaru and Tousen are still being held off. So to some up, it doesn't look good. Tbh, the Vizard are gonna have to be hella good. :D

But it's true! :P Earlier in the thread I also said that Shunsui owned Chad simply because Shunsui is so cool that it's impossible to beat him. Ukitake has tuberculosis! Give him a break, besides he came up with 'Fight for pride...'. It's well one sided atm, Toshirou vs 2nd or 3rd Espada (Don't know ranks, besides Stark, of 1-3)

Souji Okita of the Shinsengumi during the Edo peroid in Japan had tuberculosis, he even died from it, but he was the captain of the first squad and the most skilled swordsman there. He participated in many wars and always came out alive. Zaraki owned Nnoitra to be honest. He didn't nearly die. :P Also, Aizen owns all. No one can beat him at their current levels unless they all team up on him to be honest. What I want to see most in the anime is Nel's adult form, Zaraki's fight with Nnoitra and STARK!

Nnoitra said in the manga that she used to be 3rd, but she wouldn't be now because all of the espada, including him, had gotten stronger. But Nel still totally OWNED him and was about to destroy him just before she turned back into a child. So neh :P Nel definitely deserves to be the 3rd espada.

Nah, it won't be subbed until morning. I watched most of the raw while I was eating dinner and over half of it is recap of Ichigo vs Ulquiorra and Ichigo vs Grimmjow.
ONCE IS STARTS PROPER THOUGH ITS HOLY **** AWESOME, ESPECIALLY WHEN NNOITRA THROWS HIS SWORD AXE WAHTEVER IT IS AT GRIMMJOW!
Only like seven minutes of the episode is new stuff, but it's still cool. I'm sure 192 will blow me away though. :8

Every part in the manga will be in the anime. Anime's that follow manga's (like Bleach) never leave anything out. If they do, it will only be the tinyest of things. They won't change a whole fight or anything.

I hated Mayuri when he was fighting Ishida but when he owned that old man bounto I was like yep that's it Mayuri is now a legend.
