I prefer normal Ichigo because he's actually a developed character.
Meh, he's hardly developed. All he shouts is proctect this, resolve that. You could argue that his hollow side, the one he fights in his inner world, is also a somewhat developed character.
Im on episode 148 Getting quite good, They've gone to wako mundo. And rukia meet that soul reaper thats been there for 700 Years.

His hollow side is somewhat developed, but not as much as Ichigo himself. I see his hollow side as a badass character, but not one I could add to my favourites. Ichigo on the other hand is a prime example of a well developed character. We know who he is, we know what he likes, we know how he acts, we know his feelings, we know everything. The story might not be well developed these days, but Ichigo is a well developed character.

Latest manga chapter was amazing.
As well as showing some of Shunsui's shikai abilities;
His zan turns children's games into real life games where the winner lives and the losers dies.
The games we've seen so far are;
'Taka oni' where the player with the high ground is safe from attack.
'Kage oni' where players can move through their own and their opponents shadows to attack each other.
And finally,
'Iro oni' where each player takes turns saying any colour. The amount of damage they inflict onto their opponent by saying said colour, is determined by how much of said colour they are wearing.

Assuming the spoilers for this week's chapter are true then, without revealing the outcome of any fights, I can say that more panels were dedicated to crappy fraccion fights than to actual espada fights. >:@
Damn chad has gotten epic (episode 158)
His right arm is now at full strength and hes got his left arm now!
I knew he would get stronger :D!

If they actually cut Chad out of the story, if he just suddenly wasn't there, I don't think I'd even notice. He pretty much has no place in the story. What a waste of screentime.

Chad and the other friend-plebs; Rukia, Orihime and Ishida all need at least two powerups to actually be worth something. One powerup to put them on-par with Ichigo and then another to make them worthy of opposing opponents higher than the espada.

None of them should be on par with Ichigo. That would mess things up. Imagine it was Rukia who took down Grimmjow. That's just not right. Ichigo should always be the strongest, and the others should be captain/vice captain soul reaper level. Ishida is pretty much on par with Renji for example, if not stronger. Chad is pretty strong, I just think he's a waste of screentime because he doesn't really do anything. The story could actually flow perfectly without him. At least the other characters have a reason for being and a monologue every now and then, as well as the odd meaningul fight at times that actually triggers something in the main story.

Obviously they can't be on-par with him but they need a powerup that will take them to the level he is at now (at which point he will be well beyond said point). But that being the case, if the enemies they're fighting are all roughly at the same level then it's either going to be Ichigo winning comfortably while his friends stuggle and maybe win. Or Ichigo struggling (which will always be the case, it's never a OHKO) with his friends getting raped (much like they are in the current arc).
Seriously the powerlevels in bleach are wayyy messed up. Especially if you've read up to date in the manga.
Without spoiling things too much - the best someone like Ishida could probaby aspire to is the Quincy Final form he used in SS, which was pretty powerful taking out Mayuri with ease etc. Then Chad with his 'powerup' (won't spoil it for people who haven't reached it yet but you know what I mean), he could maybe get full body armour or some crap like that. And Rukia could achieve bankai. But the antagonists atm, Espada, are well beyond that. Once you get into the higher numbers, people start firing off attacks the size of nukes.
Tbh the only way I can see Ichigo's friends being of any use is in some DBZ style spirit bomb attack where they all come together blablabla and win out.

Bleach started off really good. The first 150 episodes or so (excluding the fillers) are great, but it goes downhill from there. The Soul Society and Arrancar arcs were fantastic. I wouldn't be surprised if the manga was ending soon, the Soul Reapers have been fighting the Espada for ages and Ichigo has already fought Ulquiorra, and it won't be long before Aizen makes his move. I'd say its in its final stages.

Yeah. It's pretty much the ultimate good guys vs the ultimate bad guys. Tite Kubo has been publishing it for like a year. I wish he'd just end it already. It's really annoying to read since because its such a large scale battle each chapter focuses on someone different. By the time it gets back to the person you want to see you would have forgotten what happened to them last time.
Moments like this (click) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0n4qVefy1eQ) are what make Bleach great though. It probably sounds like I'm totally ripping it apart but it does have its merits. I would recommend watching it, but I wouldn't advise anyone to continue after the Hueco Mundo arc.

They were all fodder. They're characters have no significance in the progression of the story. Unless any reference is made to them in the future, their inclusion in the story over the last few years has been pointless.

The filler arc was co-written by Tite Kubo wasn't it? Nevertheless I doubt I'll like it more than the incredible Soul Society arc.

Just looked at that webpage. I loled so much at how it's a blatant rip of Bleach with the characters. It looks almost identical in many cases, except it's the undead instead of souls. Which isn't that different.

The panels are out and out traced far as I'm concerned. On facebook there are posts of him denying it lol, he also denies having read or even knowing what manga is, stating that it is 'for kids'. However people have capped a previous quote of him saying his favourite mangaka and his favourite manga as Berserk. Hope he does actually get sued, that'd take him down a few pegs.
He could have picked a less high profile manga than Bleach or One Piece to plagiarise. You have to wonder how he thought no one would notice the identical characters and panels.

meh only liked few of there songs.
And its my opinion.. Hes the son of someone famous. dosen't excuse the fact that he ripped of other series and made money from it. And im pretty sure he's going to get sued. Any of the artists could easily take him to court. Viz or Shuesha could do the same. pretty sure they won't care who he's the son off. despite Kubo being intrested on the subject.
The fact he is related to someone famous is even more reason to sue him and get money.

Anime doesn't usually take advantage of dynamic angles and camera movement like films do, so a lot of anime ends up looking the same. It's interesting spotting similarities though. :P
Also, aparrently Tite Kubo actually commented on the topic of Nick Simmons copying his work on twitter. He said "Honestly, rather than "does it look alike or not", the fact that Gene Simmons' son is a mangaka is much more on my mind." He doesn't seem bothered. :P
The ones you posted are similar to each other, but the panels between Incarnate and Bleach are almost identical in some cases, most notably the panels with Kenpachi and that guy from Incarnate.

I haven't watched or read Bleach in absolutely ages but I decided I don't really care anymore and let my friend tell me whats been happening. I also saw him reading the latest chapter. To be honest it sounds like things have really been getting intense in the manga and I really liked the latest plot twist.

Recently in the manga, Ichigo landed a super powerful attack on Aizen while he had a massive opening, and barely hurt him because apparently Aizen has the hougyouku inside him. Aizen tells Ichigo that 'he has come along nicely', seeing what his reiatsu is like after the attack or something, with Aizen saying he planned everything that happened to Ichigo, about him getting his powers from Rukia, having to go to Soul Society to save her, then fighting with Grimmjow and Ulquiorra etc, just to make him stronger, awakening his hollow powers along the way. Then Ichigo is like 'how would you know all this, and why would you plan for me to become stronger?' and Aizen is like 'I've been watching you since you were born, and knew you were the perfect candidate'. Then Ichigo's dad comes in in the screeny that Chris posted.

The plot twist is the whole Aizen using Ichigo as a pawn thing that Axel explained. The image I posted has nothing to do with the plot twist, its just awesome seeing Ichigo's dad again. :8

Kubo forgot about Grimmjow too. Or is gonna use him for some plot twist.
Well, I kinda hope he doesn't really forget about characters. I kinda go on 4chan anime board though, and they always take the piss out of Kubo, saying how he forgets about characters. Like when Ichigo came back to Karakura and was told to take down Aizen, he tried one swing on Aizen, which failed, and then for about 5-10 chapters Ichigo just isn't seen, or is just at the side lines doing nothing to help whilst Aizen is slaughtering everyone else. Someone on a thread asked about why Ichigo wasn't doing anything, and someone posted under the username 'Kubo': "oh ****, I forgot about Ichigo, thanks guys!"
Also, I think Kubo is going to pull the 'Aizen is Ichigo's uncle' plot twist by the looks of the manga right now.

Some of the bleach threads on /a/ are absolutely hilarious to say the least. People's wits are sharp as a tack when it comes to belittling Kubo, it makes for an interesting read.

After 10,000 years of filler, bleach anime returns to canon storyline last week. First ep back was catchup... for the entire length of the episode. I expected that though so that's fine, and the new OP is quite good (music wise) although it contains numerous spoilers from the manga, infact it consists solely of spoilers from the manga.
So, new ep out today. Execting it to be a nice return to form, maybe some nice animation and plot progression to get people back into it. What can I say. Animation was poor quality, frames recycled to no end, flashbacks to scenes that happened less than 3 minutes ago and not to mention that the majority of the episode was filled with footage of Chad and Renji slaying random hollows and a long, repetitive filler fight with that stupid sand hollow again. Of course the key to beating the hollow was teamwork (who knew :rolleyes:). Also Orihime never fails to annoy with her constant damsel-in-distressness. Poor show, looks like they're still going to drag this out even after the months of fillers. I want bleach to be good but it's just so blatently not, the pacing has become so bad that it really is no stretch to say that it's the new DBZ.

Bleach could've been a great anime, but the anime just caught up to the manga too soon, so it's constant fillers and stretched out canon. Bleach could've been a great anime, but the anime just caught up to the manga too soon, so it's constant fillers and stretched out canon. Anime catching up to manga ruins a lot of good series - Bleach, the original FMA, Claymore to name a few.
FMA was hardly spoiled. The ending wasnt the most amazing, but it was still an amazing series.

In bleach fillers and bad pacing are the same thing. 5+ months of fillers equate to an equally bad paced main storyline, somehow :S. I'll give it a few more episodes to see if it gets any better then I'm quite seriously dropping the anime because you watch an episode and come out of it feeling as if nothing has happened (because it quite seriously hasn't).

Anime catching up to manga ruins a lot of good series - Bleach, the original FMA, Claymore to name a few.
Dragonball & One Piece to name a few stretch out canon but also add in filler to the canon which can be good. i like how Toei pace One Piece. means when fillers do happen they can actually be good. Not just a random crap fest like naruto was.
First FMA series was amazing - until I saw Brohood. Now the story of the first seriesis just awful in comparison.

I think Yourochi with show up and join Ichigo against Gin and Tessay will join Urahara and Isshin against Aizen....If Youroichi and Tessai come out now then who is going to show up when Aizen's sponsors appear. I don't know if anyone else is aware of this; but there is definately something more evil and powerful backing Aizen.
Something to think about is that Huecco Mundo isn't HELL; If any one remembers when Ichigo defeated the hollow that was chasing that boy inside the parakeet early in the series that hollow went to hell.http://www.onemanga.com/Bleach/12/10/

It is. Can't be arsed waiting the week or whatever it is until it get's publicly released and there's torrents everywhere anyway. It's beneficial in the sense that there's now 720p releases as well, DB only did 480p.

No, I haven't watched it in well over a year. Consider the anime dropped. I own the first 26 volumes of the manga though and have read the first 12. I want to get around to reading the others and buying the rest but theres always something better to indulge myself in.
i aint watched it properly since...oh god i dont even know. I think it was just after the grimmjow fight or once the rebellious sword thing arc started. Ive watched a couple episodes when someones says something good happens, but yeah. Its pretty crap :l

well to be fair, ive shaved by 'beard' well there was hair there, but it grows back stupidly slow. So i guess its possible, but i imagine if i left it that long you'd be able to see it.

The Dangai is an isolated space which is surrounded by numerous stacked-up layers of time's current, resulting in it being a place where the density of time within it is extremely high when compared to other exterior dimensions. To be precise it is over 2,000 times denser, meaning that when one hour passes in outside worlds, an equivalent of 2,000 hours pass inside the Dangai. The Kōtotsu exists to stop anyone from lingering in the Dangai and possibly exploiting this time distortion.
From Bleach wiki. It's the place they go through before the SS arc to reach it, where the cleaner chases them (Kototsu). Aizen destroyed the cleaner on his way to SS, and as Ichigo and his Dad were chasing him, they started training conveniently, as 5 minutes outside of it is like 7 days of training inside or something.

I read this on the MAL forums, a summary of this Bleach chapter. You know more about DBZ than I do, not sure if the guy is joking or the chapter is a complete rip off of DBZ.
1. Vengin fails to win against Fraizen despite his big effort.
2. Ichigoku arrives on planet Namek.
3. Ichigoku scans the field to make sure his friends aren't injured.
4. Although Vengin and Ichigoku were enemies at first, when their eyes meet they understand each other.
5. Vengin leaves everything to Ichigoku trusting that he can do it since he's the only Shinayan left.
6. Ichigoku can hide his power level.
7. Ichigoku changes location to a less populated place.
8. Ichigoku proceeds to beat the **** out of bad guy.
Future events:
9. Fraizen, since he's already been transformed 3 times, says he's using only 5% of his power level.
10. Fraizen intends to blow up the entire planet and says that Ichigoku has 5 minutes left.
11. 140 chapters later, Ichigoku manages a new super powerup, manages to save his friends, and partially defeat Fraizen.
12. Fraizen is found by a hell spawn and reassembled.

People really need to cut Bleach some slack to be honest. The first 150 episodes or so (minus the fillers) are grade A stuff. The rest isn't bad, it is still entertaining, but it has become too formulaic.

i really liked SS. i watched the anime tho and then i stopped cos i heard it was fillers that was way back in 06.
The first episodes were brilliant I think, if you look back to the start of this thread I was totally hooked. Watched something like 100 episodes in a month, which is A LOT for me. If you look on my anime list, not sure if you can see dates, but you'll notice it takes me ages to finish something now. Like I think the DTB Gaiden, which is 4 episodes, took me like 20 days or something? Code Geass took me about 20 days for both series I think, which was pretty fast. Anyway ye.

Yeah, I was absolutely hooked when I started Bleach as well. I watched the first 22 episodes in one day and then then next 15 the day after... 37 episodes in two days. Until last week I hadn't watched an anime series in two months and only then did I watch four episodes in a day. Bleach was the ****. I remember when I got to the first Grimmjow vs Ichigo fight I was like holy crap this is that amazing fight I've seen in all of those amvs! It did not disappoint. Bleach only really started getting crap half way through the Hueco Mundo arc where it took frequent filler breaks and messed up its pacing and then of course came the formulaic disease.
I remember episodes like the one in the video below though and just can't help but love Bleach again.

Yeeeeah! 2:30 is where it's at! Believe it or not this part is actually miles better in the anime than it is in the manga. That whole battle was amazing... Ikkaku's bankai was another highlight.

Bleach was the first long and on-going series I watched I think. I loved it but I was still much more of a Death Note and Avatar fan. I still am, but these days Gintama is way the hell up there in the sky while Death Note and Avatar are more at cloud level.

All three of the Abyssal Ones have such amazing awakened forms. Luciela is some epic looking monster with two tentacle like tales with multiple mouths that eat through anything. Although the one I posted above (Isley) will always be the best awakened form. Though Priscilla looks pretty epic and Clare's awakened form when she actually gets there looks like it's just going to be the very embodiment of evil.

I can't remember being particularly impressed with any of Kubo's extra form designs. I was even disappointed with Grimmjow's... he looked so stupid. I think Kubo's character designs are top notch though.
By the way... has Ichigo's dad been explained yet and where is Ichigo fighting Aizen now?

And ye Aizen doesn't look as detailed as stuff from Claymore at all, but still somewhat cool I think. Maybe I'm alone in my opinion.

Did you think that Miria's death was bad writing? Obviously she was a good character and the fact that she's dead is a shame (but not surprising since it's Claymore where characters are created for the purpose of dieing) but the way she died was completely out of character. She suddenly split off from the group for some solo suicide mission (why would Miria of all people do this when she was smart enough to forsee that the Battle of the North was just a plan to murder the Claymores? :S). And then she get's taken out by a Claymore who's ability had absolutely no foreshadowing and who you know will just be fodder for whoever finds her next.
On the subject of bleach: it's utter crap now. I don't know why Kubo even bothers anymore. I was spoiled before I ever read the chapter so I unfortunately I had to read the chapter knowing what was coming which made it very dreary and on top of that it was indeed poor writing. It's pretty much a deus ex machina. Chapter 106 was oh my god Miria is gonna rape the organization then next chapter oh by the way we have this completely new character who can easily beat you. There wasn't really any meaning to her death either, because as you say these new characters are probably just fodder for whoever finds them next. I bet number 10s weakness is that she can't use her ability on more than one claymore at a time, so shes had it if they go after her in a group. Didn't they say her fighting ability isn't that great as well?
As for the other two characters, they seemed pretty easy considering the fact Miria herself knew she could kill them if she wanted to and that she cut one of their arms off rather easily. Plus it took her like half a chapter to repair the arm, so they're definitely not Alicia/Beth standard. Plus their awakened form looks like a bit of a mess, so I wouldn't be surprised if they end up dead soon as well.
Poor decisions like these and the fact that it takes forever for anything to happen in Claymore with the monthly releases means that the series has taken the first noticeable drop in quality, at least in my opinion anyway. The series has always been at a high and I used to be hyped for a new chapter but now it's almost becoming redundant. Although with that said I have nearly always enjoyed reading it and so I will continue to do so hoping that it gets out of this slump.

Are you serious? he actually lost his powers? Okay, kind of wasnt expecting that. But im guessing someone will just give him their powers and he'll get it back. Kind of confused whats going on from here now though, ichigo has lost his powers and aizen is sealed..

Captains are back in soul society all fine and dandy, aizen is chained up and sentenced to 20,000 years in prison since hes immortal. Ichigo woke up and found that he really was losing his powers. All his stuff undid from when he got his powers (ie his hair that he'd grown had gone back to how it was), and he couldnt sense any spiritual beings. He said his final goodbye to rukia as he was slowly becoming unable to sense her presence.

Not sure about hell but im pretty sure they didnt get to. Who knows, he might add that even higher bad guy but unless ichigo gets his powers back (which would be the height of stupid), i dont think its going anywhere further. No new manga on it ti 27th of oct though

Actually I guess all of the Soul Reapers and everyone in Soul Society is immortal unless you send them to hell, but if you did that to Aizen he would probably reveal himself as the devil or something. It'll be weird when Bleach ends. It's been around ever since I started watching anime. Also, I think Grimmjow is still alive guys.

I thought they aged also and when they died they went back to earth so it was like a never-ending repeat? But yeah, its been around since '01, hot snap thats more than half my life. Even though ive been watching it since like it was in around episode 70-80 i think.

Dunno. It's been too long and it's not like Kubo ever reminds us of the rules in the Bleach universe haha. I started watching the anime in 2008 when it was around episode 170.

Right, hai guys I'm at Uni so HxF isn't top of my priorities but to answer questions and stuff.
No, there hasn't been a Hell arc at all. However, this december, there is a Bleach movie entitled 'Hell arc'. So it might just be covered in that, which seems a little silly that it's only a movie and not in the manga, who knows though.
Kubo is taking a 2 weeks break or something. Not sure where he is taking the story now, most people have been saying he is going to do another flashback arc, this time to do with Isshin (Ichigo's dad) and stuff.
Also, I don't know how Aizen is still immortal. He's lost his zankapakuto and the hogyoku already abandoned him, which was his godhax powers. So I'm not sure.
Also, at Ichigo saying goodbye to Rukia, suddenly everyone has forgotten about the gigais or whatever they're called.
