It's a small desk, the Mac on the left is sitting on a bookcase propped up with books to be level to the desk - and I had to remove the top off the desk so the iMac would fit in the middle!

Got my Sandy Bridge. Only managing 4.4GHz without it crashing on boot which is a bit annoying as I was hoping for 4.6-4.8GHz.

Looking good. I love the new replacement for BIOS. Posts/boots so quickly. I've disabled the Marvel SATA 3 controller on mine so it doesn't do that extra screen looking for drives on it and it posts even quicker :)

Currently at 4.5 and it seems stable. Did manage to boot at 4.6 but it crashed like 15 minutes into using it.

In the UFI you should be able to turn off the boot messages so it just comes up with the Asus logo and then stays black until the windows boot screen. Takes no longer than 5-6 seconds with all the controllers still enabled.

The benefits of liquid cooling eh.

I found that my crashes are due to some memory problem rather than overclocking the CPU to far. With both sticks in I get random freezes and Windows memory diagnostic picks up an error. With just one stick in it is completely fine (have tried both sticks individually). Not a clue what's going on really. Gonna try memtest86 when I get chance. Either the RAM doesn't like being in dual channel (WTF with that?), there's a problem with the board that doesn't like dual channel or the CPU's memory controller is broken. I don't know :(.

Haven't posted here in like a year. Added another monitor today, didn't realise it was possible with just one graphics card but Windows 7 allows you to use the Motherboard output too :)

It doesn't necessarily have to be soapy. You just squit a bit of Fairy liquid in a bowl, get a microfibre cloth or something similar (e.g. tea towel), stick your finger in, tap the surface of the water and gently rub around the screen. It's how you do it to get rid of streaks when developing photographic film :D

Good spot, something is not optimal.

If he's really screwed up then it might be blowing in the wrong direction all together, but yeah the usual way to do it is with the fan blowing through the heat sink towards the back of the case rather than sucking through.

Thanks! The DELL switch was the main switch for the household though after a few months decided to upgrade to a GigE HP Procurve. Each room has it's own access port for internet going directly to this switch.

Ah apologies, they're not used for audio processing at all. Mearly there for high intensive applications I have running 24*7. However, they are being refurbished and sent off to the DC in the private rack I have.

Not at all for the networking gear. I would have expected some rack mount audio gear though considering it looks like they're in to that sort of thing.

I'm more surprised at the fact there is a working windows laptop, its no smashed to bits, I'm surprised its even there!

Since it's most likely dual-channel you've halved the performance of your RAM. Sticking every spare stick of RAM you have into your computer because you have some spare slots does not make it faster.
