What precious other things - I've had vb beofre, it's not a massive thing to change.
And by that I meant when I first joined, I really don't care about user ranks, just the old system was much better.
One for the road.
May not be massive in terms of changing it but it is also pointless in changing the user rank system again. It hardly affects you anyway!
I do see your point Ayd but it won't be something we are going to change immediately purely because it is trivial.
Not quite, he told a load of people on *+*the hotel*+* to sign up and say certain things, make certain claims and act a certain way so that he could agree with his own viewsIf I remember rightly it wasn't just feedback from Immenseman but Immenseman befriended a group of newer users and asked about their first experiences of Habbox Forum, these users posted within the feedback thread and I agreed with what they were saying, they raised valid points and we listened
I heard it was more to do with rep
This has been stated for years (probably since you were GM come to think of it) but I've never quite got why. It's an accepted fact that social cliques have a profound effect on staff ranks, and it happens naturally among members in a big way anyway (we've always had groups and such unofficially really) so I never understood why the party line was something about an illusion of equality. It doesn't bother me what people get called on signing up, I know that "gold member" technically equates to "mouth breather" the same way bronze used to, I'm just commenting on bits and pieces I see through the thread
Is there anything on post stats that can be seen? If posting figures are largely the same as last year (as you've said traffic is) then with the new user stats going up it would mean that forum activity is actually now lower - more users with the same overall post figures obviously means the average posts per day per user is going downuser activity stats has remained stable over the past 12 months with the average in January 2010 being around the same as the average in January 2011 (around 450-500 visitors a day)
New registration stats are considerably higher than the "normal" months of last year, January 2010 got about 30-40 users registering per day, January 2011 40-60
Posting stats are up quite a bit on last December/January - will post the graph later.

how many of them new users have been banned cos they were saurav etc though
Good point Saurav trying to be funny prob requires at least 30% of new membership to get a chuckle
it's really not insulting at all, surely giving them a colour like bronze or silver would ENCOURAGE them to get rid of it by posting more and more till they're on gold?New members need not be at the bottom of the pile which is why the ranks were changed to begin at Gold Member, you say "Gold should be respected" - why the should new members not be respected?, you say bronze isn't "anything amazing" - that's quite insulting to new members.
The rest of the suggestions are quite pedantic really, it's an order of usergroups it's in no way to signify who is better etc - if we wanted that we'd go for a full blown class system.
Christmas Holidays probably had something to do with it
The whole "they shouldn't feel at the bottom of the pile" philosophy is utter rubbish though, they are at the bottom of the pile and it's incredibly unlikely they will notice the ranking system when signing up. When I join a forum, I tend to feel like a pile of rubbish because I'm technically a nobody. What makes up for that is post quality, not colour of a rank![]()
