[OFFICIAL] Design HxHD

Here is something I designed. I think it's just the right size for Habbox and when lots of people are there will look nice and full. Give your thoughts anyway, very open to criticism.

Note: there are ducks high in the sky to block walking over the desk & black holes used around the layout to maintain current room shape. Have used builders club furni so can't unlock the room.

Scrapped the grass patches and water, but can easily be extended. Staff area teleporter was just a placeholder, as are the seats. I think it looks a little better anyway :P.

i think it's really lovely! although like zak said the walls are a bit bare, but other than that it gives it a dead cute vibe!

Hmm I actually don't like the added wall bit now.. Saying that, I prefer the desk and seating area swapped- it looks a lot less cluttered!

Nice room and I like the added windows. But if I went in to that room I wouldn't think it was a help desk, but more of a club of some kind so idk :P. But I like the layout and it's a nice room :).

Like it other than the plasto, which I'm sure is gonna be a common reply,
And I think the desk itself needs a little more on the inside. Maybe another 2 tiki torches or so.

Ive seen smaller designs used, and I know about the plasto. I tried finding tiki bar stools but no one is selling them and there is none in the marketplace :(

This is definitely the Springiest/Easteriest one we've got! I still don't really understand what you mean about where the desk would go, though?

All furni gets traded to Matt so he can place it in the HxHD. You can't trade over presents. So if you wanted to keep them presents as bars, you'll need to buy and send them to Matt. It would probably be cheaper if you just changed them and used a type of divider.

You do NOT have to lend your furni if you don't want to. It's just a big help if you do.

It's the job of hxhd/general management to find the furni and there's no obligation for anyone to trade any furni over although some designs haven't been chosen precisely because some of the furni is difficult to locate or too expensive so you should try bear that in mind when you design a room too.

As for the design itself, I agree, it looks a little cluttered but I think that's mostly because the location of the fountain seems a bit random.

Guess it's not that great but it was quite small and affordable. I left a space for the teleport behind the desk and staff can double-click the lupines to go behind the desk too.. Also left a space for a Habbo Cola Machine (woo for tradition) if it ever miraculously got chosen lol.

Oh yeah, I could lend absolutely everything in the room to Mattg if it /did/ get chosen haha.

I like how you changed the stage, but I prefer the HC's to the party chairs and table in the middle and the sofa hc whatever they are called instead of the two normal hcs together. Also prefer the egg chairs to the party chairs at the back.

Also what the hell is going on with all the furni that came out since I quit?! Those plans with the white bottom are horrible! And still trying to figure out if I love or hate the office + HC furni..

But bottom line is, it's summer and I would really like something with sand.. :(

Sorry it is a different room to the one you use atm, tried to make it a little different. :P

I would actually love this room for our HxHD summer layout. I think that right after the bridge we could make a space on the lower side for whoever is hosting a game and a queue going up and then right in front of the lifeguard chair we could put a door. We could also have more sand instead of all the water patches for when games could not be played in the water but then for games like races, we could just use the water.

This way we would get so many people to come to the HxHD during HxSS! The only thing I'd maybe add is a sun or something to make the room brighter.

This is a good point. It doesn't need to be thrones and golden dragons in every corner, but some 'up market' furniture as you describe it could be a good idea to help attract people to the room :).

neon chairs are the worst furni ever, room looks really bare, furni is placed randomly, nothing matches, garden area is a complete mess and looks like there was no thought put into it, cheap usva with poinsetta on it looks HORRIFIC and the whole room just looks like you opened the builders club catalogue and shoved whatever you could in there

True, but not when they shoot up by 20c each in the MP whilst trying to buy them. I got the first ten/twelve for 25c(ish) and then prices shot up in MP and I'd assumed someone was rigging them so I waited a couple of days for it to come back down but the prices actually just kept rising to somewhere around the 25c mark. I wasn't really sure what to do as we already had pretty much all the furniture other than the (romantique) Chairs, and it became harder and harder to find the chairs as fewer and fewer people were putting them in shops because of the price change. Normally, it wouldn't have been a problem though.

I actually liked the stage. I thought that was something new and different.
But I really don't like the pirate stuff. I think habbox needs to look a little 'classier' with more upmarket furniture rather than tacky cheap stuff. It's a nice layout but I really don't think it would work for the help desk.


This is a good point. It doesn't need to be thrones and golden dragons in every corner, but some 'up market' furniture as you describe it could be a good idea to help attract people to the room :).

builder's club allows room shape customisation and gives access to a plethora of furniture that isn't accessible to normal users as well as some that is - but for free. there are a number of different shaped building blocks that might be popular with the minecraft players amongst us and with 1k+ furniture there really are endless possibilities for a newer looking helpdesk. why should habbox have to settle for a second-rate 2009-style helpdesk when other fansites are coming out with bigger and better rooms to promote their sites. it's a community hub so create a room that will not only appease the current community but will appeal to a new one.

Ive said about tweaking before, they said no (don't remember the reason though so don't jump at anyone yet). I know people picked the easter one but I dont think they'd have minded if it got tweaked.

i want to make a help desk layout in the current room shape but with an older feel. a bigger room but with some nods to helpdesks of the past in keeping with habbox's theme of being the grandpa of habbo fansites and home to some of its oldest members.
so far I can think of the newsbox and the old help/rare value desks but the petal-maj theme has been done to death. just looking for some old rooms for inspiration, not to outright copy.

Where you see the off centered Sunset wall, they will be all around the room edges like at the back of the helpdesk and near the boat!

It's OK, but I don't love it - to me it looks a bit blocky? For example the Water and the Sand just look too neat. I also don't like the top part as I feel it's a bit unneeded.

The Parrot might get annoying too :P.

However, it fits the part well.

Didn't say I cared much for the other depts, considering that's what their job entails to do, to maintain a regular source of income for a event, competition etc. But for the benefit of 30+ days, hardly worth it.

In fairness, you could really ask why X and Y have to spend Credits (that were most probably bought by someone with real life money at some point) to make a Help Desk layout as that won't benefit them?

The layout is to serve the community and it's lovely thinking your room got chosen out of however many have been suggested - if that means spending a little extra on a feature that gives you so many more possibilities then why not? I think it's actually nice to have a General Manager who wouldn't mind paying out a little bit to ensure Habbox has a good help desk layout throughout the seasons.

Oo the Ione's gifts is a good idea, and I guess any other classic/old furniture that has a story behind it. Perhaps the Black Leviathon, which I believe was the 1st LTD, could be in there too.

i love the whole idea of the laptops and desktops although i don't think the exec and chairs ath, along with the walls and cobbles

the chairs can be fixed cause those were all i had at the time. but its up to matt the chairs can be different. I also wanted to add abit of the easter layout cause it was great (eg. Flamingo, star flower, slurpees etc..) thanks comments now looking at it number 3 is the best layout and chairs can definitely change. Matt wor ur magic ty.
