Seriously, isn't it in the name that it isn't a major upgrade? 8.1? Just think of it as a service pack that you'd pay for on OS X.

Microsoft have messed up screwed up BIG TIME anyway it's a heap of **** now they're re branding everything. :'( I think it's the end of them. I know alot of places that don't want to use Microsoft or don't use it anymore. Libraries and the Job Centre andsome others

There's no logic to this thread anymore I give up now. I've never used a Mac I'm not stating things on that just Microsoft and my opinons of what I believe the company will come to. If you really knew why Microsoft was created you might have an understanding that it WAS aimed at Business not Home PCs. Now they've lost their edge and many businesses still have XP and refuse to upgrade it seems. You might like the new Windows and fantasy stuff but I don't :( When they put fading Windows in it then it annoyed me!

You've missed my point. I mean as in an incremental upgrade (which lets be honest, is what Apple has been releasing annually for £15-25 a pop) - Microsoft have now followed here, although they will obviously start charging for it too.

From what I gather, the fact that Windows 7 is now in its most developed, bug free stage of life, it can be safely adopted around the country and by official places like schools, government buildings, banks and whatever else. Anyway, for those thick ones among us...

The reason why companies never upgraded from XP was simply because for larger companies it was a lot of time, money and effort to upgrade, its been proven now from companies finally upgrading that the software was never going to be an issue, it was purely down to time and money, and the fact XP was still support, now its not Microsoft forced them to upgrade.

Windows has always...ALWAYS had Home and Business editions, How the hell do you think a company managed to get into so many homes if they used a Business OS.

its like now, Why would companies upgrade to Windows 8' when they are upgrading to a stable mature operating system, Windows 8 is fine for home users, you keep switching sides, you can't say XP was better for companies then just to 8 is better.

I can't remember the exact amount it was at but I believe it was around half way or just a bit more? I switched the system on around 6:34 PM. I plugged in the charger around 10% within the last hour or so. Probably best to see how long it lasts when I have a full charge and use it over the weekend?

You don't know any tools that look at the battery do you?

Yeah, would definitely be worth looking at it over the weekend (and obviously over time for the battery to fully adjust).

Okay the first full charge I believe I got around 5 hours and 26 minutes. I plugged in the charger at 2%. That's with the screen brightness being nearly half way with backlit keyboard on. Wireless and bluetooth were also on. I'll keep a record of how long it lasts on battery over the next couple of days and see what it's like.

It would also depend what apps I'm running throughout the day as well.

It's not Windows Live Mail. The one on the Windows machine is Microsoft Outlook 2013 and the one on the Mac is Outlook which is part of Office for Mac 2011

yeah I cleared it all out because it was so messy. I don't like having things on my desktop and that's something I copied over from someone's USB and just placed it there because it was easy. I normally don't have anything on it as before it was so over-crowded and hard to find things.
