inferno match against edge really really sounds good :D

Yeah, it would really go beside the inferno match in SVR09, since there hasn't been an inferno match for ages.
Misawa

I don't know if many people here are interested in MMA but there is a strong rumor running around that Randy Couture (pretty much a MMA legend) will return and be facing former WWE Star, Brock Lesnar at UFC 91, despite the rumors he will be facing Cheick Kongo. This could be one of the blockbuster fights of 08 if it does go ahead, I personally cannot see it happening sadly.

Indeed it is on. I know nothing of Couture, so I'll just root for Lesnar, and not watch.
I used to love wrestling back when Nash was in the elimination chamber with Goldberg and that. Ah those were the days.
I went t o a UFC autograph session when I went to NY and saw Lesnar and some others. I saw some of the lesser UFC stars when I was in Australia (I went both places this year) must be doing a tour or something :S

So whats an unsanctioned match?? Is it basically like a falls count anywhere one?
Misawa
03-09-2008, 11:36 AM
Basically it is fight - a wrestling match that isn't sanctioned - meaning there are no rules and anything goes. Traditionally, there is no way to win, it is just a fight with no aim other than to absolutely brutalise your opponent. I think the WWE is changing the stipulation around a little by most likely adding the ability to pin or make your opponent submit, but that completely blows the "unsanctioned" part of the fight away. The gimmick of this match is that the WWE cannot be held responsible for whatever happens, so expect some huge spots if the bout is to live up to being potentially more violent than any other gimmick match they've held that was sanctioned.
And yes, Michaels tore his triceps when he fell out of the ring.

Source Pwmania: September 3, 2008 - Statement from Mick Foley on leaving WWE, his future with TNA Wrestling and other opportunities.
As of today, I am a free agent in the world of professional wrestling. I will always be grateful to WWE for affording me so many incredible opportunities over the past thirteen years, but feel the time is right to pursue other endeavors.
This move frees me up to participate in more film, television and voice roles, autograph sessions, speaking engagements, volunteer work, and will allow me the time to start work on a third novel, a fourth wrestling memoir and a new children’s story.
Over the next few weeks I will be working with my management team at Braverman/Bloom Co., Inc. in pursuing a couple of unique investment opportunities.
I can confirm I have had discussions with TNA Wrestling and have come to a short-term agreement. I am very excited about the specifics of this agreement and the potential it holds.

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Gail Kim has NOT signed a deal yet with WWE and that there is a chance she may be heading back to TNA. We initially reported that Kim did not want to leave TNA, however the money deal offered to her from WWE was just too large to pass up. We're now receiving word that both Kim and Dixie Carter were not happy with how negotiations went and have decided to try working out a deal personally. It's being said that Kim felt terrible about leaving TNA, therefore she is going to try as hard ss she can to stick with the company as long as they are willing to offer her something close to what WWE is offering. At this point WWE's offer is rumored to be about three times as much as TNA's, and that does not include PPV bonuses, merchandising, etc.

In a meeting last week, the creative team discussed Undertaker's WrestleMania winning streak. They came to a consensus that his streak should end from a superstar on the rise. The general feeling is that the streak will not end but Vince McMahon isn't opposed to it. If the streak is to end, McMahon doesn't want to waste it on a "maybe" star, it has to be someone everyone can agree on who would become a top star for several years. Some are skeptical on whom to use due to what happen with Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley. The name that has been thrown around the most is Ted DiBiase. Management feels that he could be the next Randy Orton, and Vince is very high on him but doesn't see him ready by next year. One idea brought up was to bring back his father in a few years since he introduced Undertaker to WWE.

Unforgiven Spoilers
Expect Lance Cade to get involved in the Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho match tonight. Their feud is expected to continue regardless of the outcome.
Triple H is expected to win the WWE Championship Scramble match but according to WWE sources, MVP or Jeff Hardy winning the title wouldn't shock them. Hardy winning the title doesn't seem likely since there has been no build up, nor have fans wanted him to win the title. MVP winning the Scramble would be the perfect scenario, as he could defend it against Triple H, Undertaker, and Jeff Hardy over the next few months. It wouldn't come as a surprise if Big Show interfered out of frustration with Vickie Guerrero's "oversight" and cost Triple H the title.
CM Punk is expected to win the World Heavyweight Championship Scramble and defend his title against Randy Orton at Survivor Series.
ECW Champion Mark Henry will look dominant in tonight's match and never get pinned, but Matt Hardy could walk out as champion. WWE will find some way to embarrass The Miz in front of his hometown fans.
if you saw the wwe magazine with jeff hardy on the front, it sorta hinted he might win
Wayne
07-09-2008, 09:26 PM
I don't think Jeff Hardy is WWE champion material to be honest. I prefer to see Hardy as the IC champion or Tag Team champion. I've watched him wrestle since 1998 and I don't think he's improved that much. His moves are still similar to those he did in 1998 etc. When he wrestles big guys, it just doesn't seem right.

It was an enjoyable event.
Totally gutted that Jeff Hardy didn't win the championship scramble. How obvious was it that as soon as Chris Jericho entered the raw championship scramble that he was gonna win it. Doesn't seem very fair as CM Punk wasn't there to defend it through no fault of his own? :|
Misawa
08-09-2008, 04:00 AM
His victory is completely senseless as far as I can tell based upon the fact that his feud with Jericho is continuing. A championship will ruin their rivalry. I have an idea that RAW's main event will be Jericho vs. Punk where HBK could screw Y2J.

The only bad match was the Divas Championship bout. Since it looks as if the WWE is building towards a CM Punk vs. Randy Orton match at round about the Survivor Series, he should still have the World Heavyweight Championship. I'm looking for HBK to screw Jericho tonight out of the title in a match vs. Punk, as their feud is continuing and it does not need a title, and that way, Michaels could add more of a balance to both sides of the story, as Y2J has not had much personal loss thus far.

Misawa
08-09-2008, 04:02 PM
Michaels and Jericho really do NOT need to fight over the World title. CM Punk vs. Orton is being built up and the reason for the feud starting was the championship, therefore Punk has to get the gold back before Survivor Series. I'm counting on HBK screwing Y2J out of the belt.
I beleive, that Chris Jericho won the title so he could move up to main event scene along with HBK so it adds more credibility.
This time will it be HBK becoming new champion? which everyone wonders ....
Or will Y2J reclaim the title after loosing numerous of times to HBK

Lmao, nah I don't think it was meant to happen because Tazz swore and the referee looked really confused. The weight of Big Show back then, 500lbs and Brock Lesnar, about 270lbs is like, 770lbs crashing down onto a certain section of the ring at the same time, which was the centre I believe, so it must've all collapsed on accident.

FRIENDS and colleagues of WWE Hall of Famer Nature Boy Ric Flair are expressing concern after the latest in a series of personal problems.
On Friday night the legendary grappler was left bloody and battered after what appears to be a street fight with his 22-year-old daughter Ashley's boyfriend.
American police responded to a call from Ashley's neighbours about a fight in progress.
When the authorities got there, both Ric and the boyfriend were bloody.
Neither Flair, his daughter nor the boyfriend would cooperate with police, which lead to tensions escalating.
Cops claim Ashley kicked an officer and was arrested on charges of assault and resisting arrest. They used a Taser, an electric stun device, to subdue her.
Police Captain Chris Blue said: “Everybody had been drinking, and they didn't appear that happy to see the police.
“It sounds like they had a pretty good dust-up.”
Flair was photographed by a local Carolina nightlife organization at the weekend out on the town with son Reid with The Nature Boy sporting a horrific black eye.
Former co-workers are greatly concerned for Flair and his legacy.
“The incidents of the past few days have troubled me,” wrote WWE Smackdown announcer Good Ol' JR Jim Ross.
“What Ric Flair needs is full time management on a on going basis and not just some one to negotiate a fee and book Ric to go somewhere and sign his name.
“Ric needs someone to help protect Ric from Ric.”
SunSport columnist Paul Heyman wrote in a recent blog that Flair's image would be tarnished outside the protective shell of World Wrestling Entertainment.
“Flair deserves better,” Heyman said on these pages.
“Is this how you want to see Flair nowadays? Isn't just a little uncomfortable? Doesn't it just seem wrong?”

The details behind the mysterious suspension of Hardcore Holly have finally been revealed and it turns out he is in rehab, following a pain pill addiction.
The incident that led to his suspension was that he was caught stealing painkillers from another wrestler's bag. Holly was immediately sent to rehab.
None of this was officially announced because he didn't actually fail a Wellness Policy test.

Ouch. I don't tend to look down on Benoit because it's obvious that he was out of control due to his mental state. I am sympathetic for him rather than damning him to hell like most people, where the problem is the majority not exploring the whole story.

Same. I was lucky enough to meet him in Manchester a few years back and he is one of the most humble men I have met. Where as on TV he looked like he could kill you. Its a real shame. But I guess making light of the situation is the best way to keep my mind away from really thinking about it as he genuinely was a great person. :(

With the brain of an 85-year-old Alzheimer's sufferer, you can't not expect such an act, of course that was not known until afterwards. That is why I do not hate on him. Of course, his actions cannot be justified, but he still does not need the hate because he was mentally damaged. I tend to reflect on his career rather than anything June 2007 and beyond.

He "appeared" intoxicated. He had only drunk alcohol, it's not a Wellness Policy violation or anything. I don't see how it could or should effect his push in all honesty. The media over the situation before the genuine reason was revealed was just sensationalistic reporting, false eyewitness accounts, so he deserves to not be treated any different prior to Wednesday.
CJW93
19-09-2008, 06:51 PM
According to WWE's alcohol policy, it appears as if Jeff Hardy is indeed clear of any punishment people may have speculated he could/should receive. I have read a few posts on other websites presumptuously deciding that Hardy should be punished for "appearing" to be intoxicated and was subsequently setting a bad example to other wrestlers by sending the message that this type of behavior is allowed. Those condemnations are absurd to me as there was never any proof that he was in fact drunk, and if you read WWE's alcohol policy, he was in fact doing nothing against company regulations.
Here's WWE's official policy on alcohol abuse:
The use and/or abuse of alcohol in such a fashion so as to impair the ability to perform is prohibited by this Policy. Talent are expected to be free of the influence of alcohol when performing for WWE. Accordingly, the use of alcohol at any time twelve hours prior to any scheduled performance is prohibited by this Policy.
1. Testing for alcohol use or abuse in violation of this Policy shall be for reasonable cause only as defined in Section 7A.
2. The initial positive test for use and/or abuse of alcohol in violation of this Policy will be treated as a medical issue requiring evaluation for alcohol rehabilitation treatment. All subsequent positive tests for alcohol-related violations of this Policy shall be treated as disciplinary matters in accordance with this Policy.
Misawa
19-09-2008, 06:55 PM
Exactly. The policy states that wrestlers cannot be intoxicated at a show thus having a negative effect on their performance. Jeff was drinking post-show with time off before the next house show, it was in his own time. The WWE does not restrict people from living their own lives outside WWE.

Not really, I mean more people drink alcohol then not, so it's really upto them whether they choose to drink or not. No one else who is straight edge is going to rise up the ranks now that it's already been sensationalised with Punk. Obviously those who dabble in drugs are punished, but with something that is perfectly legal, I think it's fine to remain on such a path. They all drink in moderation because of their schedules.

It's like with jeff, he took drugs and got punished for it, now he's off the drugs he's been accepted back into the WWE and by the fans. Punk sets a hight standard in the WWE I feel, he's the same size as jeff (nearly) and has the same sort of style, punk has been in the WWE a lot less than jeff has and punk has held 2 major championships already. If you compare them both together and the reasons why you will see mainly because punk is "straight egde". The fans adore him for being truthful and passionate about his life, some still don't like jeff because he thrown it all down the pan.
I feel if jeff didn't take drugs he would have held a major championship now, much like his brother matt.

I believe he would have been WWE Champion through the spring on RAW if he hadn't been suspended for the second time. As far as Punk is concerned, I believe he was rewarded simply because they needed to take the title away from SmackDown and needed a popular way to do it, basically, a transitional champion. He wasn't ready anyway.

Jericho wouldn't have got the title if WWE didn't see a storyline out of it.

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that two Raw superstars are currently on the proverbial "chopping block" and may be in danger of being released.
Paul London, who hasn't been seen on TV in quite some time and isn't being used much on house shows, is said to be close to termination. He doesn't have any allies on the creative team which is why there has been no focus on repackaging him like they did with Kendrick.
Chuck Palumbo, who has yet to make his Raw debut since being drafted from Smackdown, is also very close to being released. It's said that Vince used to be high on his biker gimmick but grew tired of it rather quickly. In Palumbo's case, he has always had the support of Johnny "Ace" Laurinaitis, who was responsible for bringing him back into the company after his first stint with the company was over.

Nah, it's not. But there's some Matt and Jeff Hardy thing on at 12:25am on Sky Sports 3 after ECW.

The newest rumored WWE Smackdown theme - http://www.wwe.com/content/media/video/vms/smackdown/2008/september15-21/8089916
Personally prefare it over 'I dare you' or whatever it was called. That has been used in the MyNetworkTV (above song) promo spots for WWE, its now rumored that its the new theme. If anyone is watching Smackdown on Sky Sports this evening, tell us what theme they use :)
Misawa
03-10-2008, 04:55 PM
It is indeed the new theme, they've used that ShineDown song a LOT before. I have always liked it, but I've enjoyed the Drowning Pool song as the theme and prefer it.
Wayne

It kind of sounds more like a PPV theme. Nice find though. :)
Misawa
03-10-2008, 05:00 PM
Heh, it was one of the WrestleMania 22 themes. WWE also used Save Me and Devour for PPV songs.
Wayne
03-10-2008, 05:02 PM
Save Me? Is that the one used for those SVR09 countdown videos at the start?
Misawa
03-10-2008, 05:51 PM
No.
Someone save me if you will
And take away all these pills
And please just save me, if you can
From the blasphemy in my wasteland
Good song.
Misawa

The new theme is the Rise Against song, and it doesn't fit with the intro video.
Wayne
03-10-2008, 06:34 PM
Have you got a link Misawa?

They will most likely tweak the video, if not make a whole new one. They did when Raw moved channels (They tweaked the clips, not whole new video if I remember rightly). And they did when SD moved to CW.
Misawa
03-10-2008, 08:29 PM
Yeah, the video is brand new to fit with the song.

Finally, the new video and opening theme.

Looking good, I personally prefare it over the majority of past themes, a great little rocky tune. Nice :)

I dont like her.
WWE is boring lately. Theres no alternative either. I wish NM would hurry up so they can continue with Michaels vs Jericho, although knowing me it will end tomorrow.

just watching TNA and i noticed that Guerrero dude on TNA
he has totally based his life on Eddie
same hairstyle same kind of voice... are TNA ripping Eddie off???
Captain
04-10-2008, 10:58 AM
I noticed that too. My little brother even thought Eddie Guerrero wasn't really dead. Kind of a insensitive move by TNA. If I was one of the 19 fans who watched TNA I wouldn't be happy.
Wayne
04-10-2008, 11:05 AM
Lmao @ 19 fans. :P I think it is a bit below the belt by TNA. I would prefer Hector in WWE.

LOL.
Haha, thats such a stupid quote up above. That spanish geezer did not base his life on Eddy Guerreros. I believe it is Eddies Brother, Hector Guerrero.

Lol. They are the same family, they will be alike

Yeah, you can also use Sapo. :P Those videos you posted are longer than Sapo. Sapo videos are about 9 minutes a piece. ;) Nice find.
Captain
04-10-2008, 01:25 PM
oo I've never heard of Sapo :P
The opening match on SmackDown was amazing, it's a shame WWE can't produce matches of that standard on a weekly basis :(
Wayne
04-10-2008, 01:26 PM
Lol, yeah. I liked the opening match too. I also liked the main event.
Captain
04-10-2008, 01:34 PM
I liked the diva match also :]]]
On the main event it annoys me how HHH always manages to win.
Wayne
04-10-2008, 01:35 PM
Lol, I like Triple H as you can probably tell so I enjoy him winning. ;) I liked R-Truth interupting Benjamin's match, haha.
Captain
04-10-2008, 01:45 PM
I think him winning all the time is gonna back fire, just like it did on Cena. I can't stand R-Truth at all. If I hear that crappy WHATS UP song one more time I'll personally fly over to USA and rko R-Truth myself.
Misawa

It made me chuckle when you didn't realise Hector was Eddie's brother.
Unfortunately Felony, Jericho said that this Sunday was the conclusion of his feud with Michaels in an out of character interview. I'd like to see it continue too, they could get one more PPV run out of it. Hopefully he was in character for that one statement.
Wayne
04-10-2008, 01:59 PM
I reckon HBK might win against Y2J.
newWORLDorder
04-10-2008, 02:08 PM
oh yeah, I remember you posting that Adam, he also said it on Between the Ropes radio (I reccomend you all listen, epic radio show, not like these other radio shows with kids pretending to be epic wwe know it alls. These are sensible, funny dudes who cover all Pro Wrestling and MMA. Good laugh!)
I think HBK deserves maybe one last title run, but sadly I think Jericho may win.
Misawa, will you be doing Predictions for Gerweck? Been waiting for them as I find them an interesting read whenever im on Gerweck (whenever my computer is on lol)
Wayne

Why did Foley go to TNA? :@ WWE fans will miss him.

I'm really beginning to like Jeff Hardy :S
Wayne
04-10-2008, 02:16 PM
I've liked Jeff for a while, but I don't really imagine him as WWE champion material. I still picture him as intercontinental champion or tag team champion.
Excellent2
04-10-2008, 02:21 PM
Yeah to be WWE, Heavyweight, ECW champ you need to personify a "BIG" character such as: john cena, triple h, batista, orton etc. Jeff can't talk on the mic and doesn't have the 'respect' of everybody in my opinion, just like CMPunk.
Misawa
04-10-2008, 02:22 PM
A month-long title run for Jericho wouldn't be too credible, so I'm sure he will retain, but I believe one last HBK title run is in store for him.
I unfortunately couldn't write a preview for tomorrow's PPV, Felony. I was asked, but had to decline due to lack of time available on my part, as they take quite a while to produce with the thinking process. I'll return with one on Cyber Sunday weekend. :)
Jeff should have the title, one day. To say he isn't well-respected would be a travesty.
Wayne
04-10-2008, 02:22 PM
Yeah, I agree. I think Jeff would look weird all bulked up too tbh. His mic skills are quite poor too. I wouldn't mind Big Show becoming champion again.
Excellent2

R-Truth for US please ;D
