You dont need to be bulked up to be an enjoyable World Champ. Flair, Punk :)
His mic skills are not rock worthy, but better than they used to be.
Foley left as 1. The most common complaint - The road, he would rather stay close to the fairground (if you read his books you will know he is a huge fairground ride fan).
2. He did not like vince shouting down his ear in the commontators job. Shame, he was good.
Wayne
04-10-2008, 02:28 PM
Lol, yeah I like R-Truth and the title would look cool on him. :P I don't think Santino will beat Honky Tonk Man's record of the IC title reign.
Edit: Stupid Vince.
newWORLDorder
04-10-2008, 02:30 PM
He will get to the last week and lose the title.
Truth deserves US. His name sucks though, he suits Ron Killings, K-Kwik or R-Truth sound like american shops. (K-Mart, 7-11 lol)
Misawa
04-10-2008, 02:30 PM
Jeff wouldn't change is physique. What you see is what you get; he isn't built like a muscleman.
Vince shouts at everyone from the Gorilla position. I think Mick should have expected that when he took the role.
Excellent2
04-10-2008, 02:32 PM
It would be interesting to see jeff hold the title for a month and see what he's like, I really hope vince allows him to beat HHH this sunday :D I think that russian dude will interfere and jeff will take the win.

K-Kwik reminds me of the Kwik-e-mart from the Simpsons :(
I hope people come to realise that R-Truth is naff. With his little dancing gimmick he won't make it far into the WWE. I hate him.
HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE
Santino Marella for Prime Minister pls.
Wayne
04-10-2008, 02:34 PM
Lol, you mean Vladimir Kozlov. ;) He's a powerful guy but I don't like him.
newWORLDorder
04-10-2008, 02:34 PM
He does not need to. People like him for his style of wrestling, he cannot change the way he looks or he will be doing Brock Lensar-esque style flips.
K-Kwik has already made it. He is nearly 40. In his prime, been NWA Champion, Won the IC title in WWF (I think, cant remember). He does not need to prove himself any more.

40 years old?
newWORLDorder
04-10-2008, 02:40 PM
Nope.. where did I get 40 from... I know he is older than most think though.
Wayne
04-10-2008, 02:42 PM
He does look quite old though.
Misawa
04-10-2008, 02:42 PM
He is indeed almost 40.

what is the point in r-turth, his gimmick is so annoying :l.
newWORLDorder
04-10-2008, 02:46 PM
36 according to gerweck (May of miscounted, tired!).
But surely someone else agrees that he looks younger than his age.
Another thing that shows that we are growing up.. The Hardys, Jericho and Big Show are now considered WWE veterens... I keep thinking that they are all dead young, which they kinda are. But i guess its just signs of growing up fast and not knowing it...
..you whipper-snappers with your nintendoo sixtyfours and your pacman videogames. [BASEketball quote]
Wayne
04-10-2008, 02:46 PM
Wow I thought he was about 23..
If he was about 23, back in WWF 2001 he would've been like, 16. xD The Hardyz, Big Show & Jericho have been in WWF since late 90s though, around 1998-1999 area.
newWORLDorder
04-10-2008, 02:50 PM
Yeah, thats what I mean, and they are veterans. Think about it. How many Attitude Era wrestlers are sitll there now...
I mean attitude era as the childhood era for most of us, like, 1990-2000. Hardyz, Jericho, Bigshow. No more Rock, Austin, original DX.
HHH has been veteran since he married Steph/gave Vince mouthloves.
Excellent2
04-10-2008, 02:51 PM
I think because of Matt and Jeff's radical gimmick going solo for both of them was a bad move. The hardy's where recognized for their tag team abilities. I still see them as kids though haha.
Wayne
04-10-2008, 02:52 PM
Yeah. Don't forget Undertaker and Kane too. They're veterans now since they were kind of at the height of their careers during our childhoods.
Misawa
04-10-2008, 02:53 PM
Yeah, definitely don't listen to the media about "pro wrestlers die young", especially in the WWE. A handful of known drug abusers died after their prime. That isn't everyone. The media just likes to be sensationalistic and careless. If the lifespan of a wrestler was 18-45, I don't think there would be any wrestling.
I'm not a supporter of the whole "banging in the boss' daughter" idea. He only married Steph a few years ago, and he was on top years and years beforehand. When he was dating Chyna he was on top, and what does that say?
Excellent2
04-10-2008, 02:55 PM

Lol, yeah he is doing quite well for his age. :O
Misawa
04-10-2008, 03:08 PM

Misawa

It'll be handed to Shane and Steph, but Steph and Triple H will have most of the control as Shane will not has as much involvement.

Wayne
04-10-2008, 03:29 PM
Lol, loads of people want the Attitude era back again, me being one of those people.
Misawa
04-10-2008, 03:34 PM
The Attitude Era was an attempt on the WWF's part to capitalise on the success of ECW's hardcore style. There's no reason for them to do it again, and with the WWE's TV shows now rated PG, it won't be happening.
Wayne
04-10-2008, 03:36 PM
Yeah, I don't like it how WWE appeals to the younger generation now tbh.
Captain
04-10-2008, 03:38 PM
No one likes the new PG rated WWE. EVERYONE WANTS THE ATTITUDE ERA BACK. Attitude Era actually made me look forward to watching wwe :(
Misawa
04-10-2008, 03:39 PM
Well, they have to, for business. A huge percentage of its fans are kids.
And WWE has only just been rated PG, and of course all the wild things can happen on PPV.
Wayne
04-10-2008, 03:39 PM
Lol, yeah. I do look forward to WWE a bit nowadays, but the WWF era always had shocks and surprises etc.
Misawa
04-10-2008, 03:41 PM
That's probably because dirtsheets weren't every other website on the net, so you wouldn't have been spoiled back then. If no one read into it, it would still be unpredictable. The reason why the WWE keeps pulling these swerves lately is because they are trying to defy what the internet wrestling community finds out from the dirtsheet websites.
Captain
04-10-2008, 03:50 PM
I don't read spoilers and stuff but I can still pretty much predict what will happen. They need new creative writers. Im certain that most kids who watch WWE would prefer what happened in the attitude era than what happens today.
Misawa
04-10-2008, 03:55 PM
Too many gimmick matches, not enough solid wrestling.
Wayne
04-10-2008, 03:59 PM
Are you on about gimmicks in attitude era or now?
Captain
04-10-2008, 03:59 PM
Most of the audience aren't too bothered about solid wrestling, they watch it for entertainment.
Misawa
04-10-2008, 04:01 PM
Gimmick matches, not wrestler gimmicks.
Wrestling is wrestling, wrestling is telling stories in the ring with great psychology, not weapons or cages or dumpsters. In moderation, like the WWE of today, is fine, to cap off feuds, but not all the time - that's garbage wrestling.
newWORLDorder
04-10-2008, 04:09 PM
Everyone does not want the attitude era back. I for one do not. It was a phase, people will look back on this era and think it was the best ever. People will look back on the next generation and think it was the best ever. See where im going with this?
I just want a whole WWE revamp. Thats what made 2002 exciting.. this "WWE" made it feel like a whole different company. The WWE's attempt at a rebrand in January failed IMO.
Captain
04-10-2008, 04:13 PM
I don't think i'll look back on this era and think it was the best ever. I think it's been terrible.
Wayne
04-10-2008, 04:18 PM
I thought the 2003 era was quite good. Evolution, Booker T, RVD, Kevin Nash, Goldberg, Brock Lesnar, The Rock, Shawn Michaels etc. I won't look back on WWE now in a few years and say it was great.
Misawa
04-10-2008, 04:23 PM
I don't segment the WWE into eras. I just look at the years it progresses. The only real "eras" you can call would be the Golden Age, and then Attitude.
newWORLDorder
04-10-2008, 04:26 PM
Yeah, I think this generation/period or whatever you want to call it needs a big event to class it as an 'era' or whatever.
Edge wants Christians last run to be in WWE... good!
Wayne
04-10-2008, 04:29 PM
I think a lot of people say that when Cena was the champion, that was a new era.
newWORLDorder
04-10-2008, 04:31 PM
Your joking, right?
Misawa
04-10-2008, 04:32 PM
How? He's just another champion. You could say his first victory is what began the reign of John Cena, but by no means is it an era.
Wayne
04-10-2008, 04:32 PM
I've seen people referring to it on YouTube as like 'Cena Era' and stuff. It's probably because he never lost the title and that, I dunno.
Misawa
04-10-2008, 04:37 PM
Weird. They forget Batista was World Heavyweight Champion then.
newWORLDorder
04-10-2008, 04:39 PM
Well im a huge fan of the Santino era :l
Them people who say **** on youtube dont know jack about wrestling and most likely think Batista and Cena are the best things since sliced bread.
Wayne
04-10-2008, 04:59 PM
Yeah, whoever is champion at that time they think is a new era.

I for one want the ECW/WCW invasion to come back again, perhaps an all brand fight like Smackdown vs RAW vs ECW, would keep me watching :) The WWE lacks characters right now, they will never be able to conjure up someone like stone cold ever again. The reason why we enjoyed austin was because we could all relate to him in someway, his attitude as it where was a typical stereotype and was funny :)

Another invasion would be a bit boring imo cause we've seen one before and we know how it will end. They need a complete re-think of the ECW roster though, ECW is all about hardcore wrestling but there is only one original left

World Heavyweight Championship Ladder Match

WWE Championship Match

The Undertaker vs. The Big Show
ECW Championship Match
Matt Hardy (c) vs. Mark Henry
Number One Contenders Match
Batista vs. John "Bradshaw" Layfield
Women's Championship Match
Beth Phoenix (c) vs. Candice Michelle
Rey Mysterio's Mask On The Line
Rey Mysterio vs. Kane
Yes, Yes I have :(

Misawa, Good predictions, again.
Heres mine
World Heavyweight Championship Ladder Match
Chris Jericho (c) vs. Shawn Michaels
This match will be an amazing match, with it being very close.. both men fighting on the ladder, until Cade comes out, spoils the match by pulling Michaels down. Helping Jericho retain. The dream ending, however. Cade comes and gets Michaels off the ladder, Michaels is flat out. Ric Flair runs down to the ring, usual pulls jacket off and whatnot, low blows Jericho off the ladder. Flair helps Shawn back up the ladder to get a memorable win!
WWE Championship Match
Triple H (c) vs. Jeff Hardy
Im optimistic with this match, would love to see Hardy get the win, I believe its his time, but knowing WWE he will not get the win. Triple H takes the win and shows great sportsmanship to Hardy after the match, to Pedigree him seconds later, adding a clear Face and Heel line in this fight.
The Undertaker vs. The Big Show
This match will be a very short one, most likely ending with Edge interupting IMO. Edge, Vicky, or Chavo interupting. Infact, I can see Chavo interupting, I dont think WWE will the "Edge is in hell" story so soon and on such a small stage.
ECW Championship Match
Matt Hardy (c) vs. Mark Henry
Wish this was a gimmick match, most likely another forgettable ECW title match. Hardy for the win.
Number One Contenders Match
Batista vs. John "Bradshaw" Layfield
Yawn. Dont care who wins. Boobs vs Basketballhead.
Women's Championship Match
Beth Phoenix (c) vs. Candice Michelle
As much as Candice is phit (apart from the lobsided breasts.) I will be using this match to go the toilet and get a drink (Saying that, I wont, as I will either be asleep or watching the match online, so I wont be able to go to the toilet or get a drink!)
Rey Mysterio's Mask On The Line
Rey Mysterio vs. Kane
Yet again. Im optimistic in this match. My take on it is that Mysterio lost his mask in WCW. He was fine without it, obviously there where talks and whatnot. I would like to see Rey lose his mask.. maybe a heel turn! Obviously in reality, Mysterio will pick up a smart win. Close fight, obviously, with one or two great lucha spots. Kane just needs his mask back. Lol.
My predictions are way off but oh well.. as I said in the past, I can dream.
Misawa

PPV over. Was pretty lackluster apart from the last two matches. Jericho lost a tooth!
When are the wwe gonna stop punnishing jeff hardy and just let him hold the wwe championship. It's getting boring now all the times he gets a shot and comes so close for it to be snatched away. I really thought last night would be his time but no. If they're gonna refuse him the win they should make it more realistic than the way it happened HHH should have been out for the count yet he still managed to counter the pin.
Misawa
06-10-2008, 12:58 PM
I disagree that they're "punishing" him. I predicted a Triple H victory because of the lack of build and the general focus on him at the moment by the WWE. I wouldn't be surprised to see Hardy to the Royal Rumble in January and go on to win at WrestleMania, which is the without a doubt the best place to win a World Championship.

Voting is pretty much rigged anyway. Honky recently had a finger ripped off and it had to be surgically reattached, and he's feeling complications from the recovery at the moment, so I doubt they could do anything with him, but he would be the clear victor in a poll. I expect Beth Phoenix will help Santino get a dirty victory and then he'll be on the receiving end of a guitar shot.

Rikishi left WWE on July 16 2004, following repeated requests from WWE to lose weight. He joined TNA for a brief stint in 2007. However, after a dispute, he left TNA because of money issues.

Ahh, just never knew they tried to hide it sorry :P I guess they don't want to be put on the injured list?
Wrestlers always wrestle injured and live in pain. They have to manage it. The more severe injuries that are obvious are the ones that cause wrestlers to miss time in the ring as they physically cannot compete. Promoters don't want wrestlers with slight injuries for them to develop further, and temporarily or permanently lose their talent. Also, wrestlers detest injuries as for some, although not so much today, because they can lose their spot, which is their position on wrestling events.
And no, Black Reign is gone from TNA.

I don't think so, I mean Orton's been suspended twice, Booker T was suspended, Edge was suspended, Jeff Hardy's been suspended twice. That's four of their biggest stars there, and I feel as if it is all very legitimate.
As for Batista, he was a bodybuilder pre-wrestling. There are bigger guys in the world than Batista, it's not like his physique is impossible to both obtain and maintain, especially when a huge percentage of a WWE wrestler's life is eat, wrestle, gym.
Ziggler could have done anything prohibited, from narcotics, pills, steroids.
newWORLDorder
10-10-2008, 11:26 PM
Hm. But dont you get the feeling sometimes that some main superstars miss it...
...what I personally want to say is that Vince must have some favorite superstars who are 'known to have skip the Wellness testing'. That makes me sound VERY bitter and knowing my luck I am wrong.. but Vince looked un-natural for his age, HHH went suddenly HUGE from his old look, Batista looks like if you prodded him he would pop.. but yeah, they probs just spend a lot of time working out (no ****).. but yeah.
Excellent2
10-10-2008, 11:29 PM
No felony, the WWE has a wellness policy because of what happened to Benoit I do believe. Batista is big because he was a body builder before, yes, he took steroids but if you look at him when he came to the WWE and last monday he's got a lot smaller because he's off them. Triple H used to be on steroids which was clear, now he isn't.
newWORLDorder
10-10-2008, 11:31 PM
Incorrect, the Wellness Policy has been around since before Benoit. (Pretty sure). I did sound pretty bitter, but im sure there are a few that do get around it somehow...

Excellent2
10-10-2008, 11:34 PM
Yeah I agree some do look huge such as John Cena, he is just massive but I don't think they let anything slip to be honest.
I'm not sure about TNA because D-Von Dudley has been training for Mr.Olympia which every bodybuilding fan knows is the yearly event for body building. He's bulked up so much in just 1 year, it must be steroids. I'm glad that angle has come off them because he had big problems when he was on them.
Misawa
10-10-2008, 11:35 PM
I agree with you if you're talking about years ago such as when Hunter Hurst Helmsley became Triple H, but that was pre-Wellness Policy. I am sure H was assisted in his transformation by steroids. Vince probably dabbled in them too, and he used to also use cocaine, but so did many of the WWE roster, like HBK, X-Pac, a good number of them, but they had no policy to stop them, only drugs tests that were extremely spaced out, with no set list of implications. As society's changed, thee WWE's roster has a different attitude towards the party lifestyle by choice over rules, for the most part.
With John Cena, he has a good physique, but he isn't some "monster of muscle". He was a professional bodybuilder prior to WWE and you can probably do a Google search or something to see pictures of him 3x the size then as he is now, and clean.
TNA has implented a Wellness Policy now, as recent as a couple of weeks ago. They had a round of drugs test a few months ago and those who failed were simply told to get off whatever they are doing, otherwise they will be punished next time.
The WWE's Wellness Policy was established a little after Eddie Guerrero's death.

Yeah Misawa, back in the WWF days. All HHH had to do was move his arm and his t-shirt looked like it was going to rip. Vince has taken steroids and yeah I'm sure he helped HHH to seeing as he's family. I like the way they have this wellness policy in place though, it's very assuring for the fans that the superstars aren't cheating their way or harming themselves because of us.
You can really tell who used to be on steroids and who didn't, I'll name some off the top of my head.
Chris Jericho
Eddie Guerrero
John Cena
Batista
HHH
SCSA (austin)
The rock
Kane
Kurt angle
HBK
Benoit
Thats all I can think of because I'm tired tonight haha. If you look at most of them now you will see a big size decrease, thats not because they decided to get smaller, it's because the wellness policy has been enforced and they don't want to be suspended.
Misawa
10-10-2008, 11:42 PM
Well yeah, I mean the natural makeup of your body proves how big you can get for the most part. It's not possible for many to get beyond a certain size as their bodies just cannot do it, but the real heavyweights are the ones who are naturally big, and work off that for their physiques.

Jericho has admitted to doing steroids early on in his career.
I believe John Cena to always have been clean.
With Kane, I can't see how he'd need steroids. He's not build to be a muscular man, he just has natural size and strength, and as he's got older, his body has changed form. Look at Triple H, he's getting on now, his muscle is becoming bloated through age.
Excellent2
10-10-2008, 11:47 PM
Hmm I agree with you about Kane a tad, he used to be huge as in muscle capacity, now most of his build is flab (what happens when you come off the steroids) thats why I think he was on them, same as triple h, jericho and the others I mentioned.
Some of them are naturally big like that new russian, he's not on steroids and it's pretty obvious but he's a huge heavyweight. I loved claims that Khali was on steroids though.. yeah.. a 7"3 400 pounder with hands the size of an american football on steroids.

"I can't tell you I haven't taken steroids but you will never be able to prove that I have"
Thats a basic yes in my opinion, or you're just narrow minded and a big cena fan :P
Every muscle fanboy knows that bodybuilders take steroids, he used to be a bodybuilder, I've seen pictures of him and he looks the same size as he was a while back (years, in the wwe)

A few years ago, I'm sorry but just no..

That interview was sickeningly edited by CNN, and they refused to apologise when Cena demanded.
What's wrong with those arms? This is Cena pre-WWE, and they constant drugs tests in the world of competetive bodybuilding. He dropped size just so he could fit into the WWE. From the left, to the two right pictures, which are of Cena in UPW as The Prototype character. He lowered his size and he was clean.
And no, I'm not a Cena fan, but nor do I dislike him - the hate he's been receiving has not been deserved in my eyes, and instead just flocking of sheep.

I am not doubting his in-ring ability or his general charisma/personality. John Cena is one of my favorite wrestlers on the current roster but before the wellness policy I'm sorry to say he must have been on steroids. The veins were popping out of his arm (what happens when you take steroids) and he had a bloated stomach which is another sign. Since the wellness policy he's definitely came off them. He's decreased in size, not much but enough to show he's had some rapid changes. He's not veiny no more like he used to be and his stomach has certainly toned right up.
It's just the same as Batista.
Misawa

He does not need to be put over as a big man like Big Show, Kane.. when you watch him wrestling.. I dont know about you, but I imagine if you were near him, you would be intimidated. The way he handles himself and his opponent in the ring... or he is just a terrible stiff worker, but I doubt that.

Anyone see that Iron Sheik Ring Roast thing? Scott Hall went off on a tangent about a joke some wise-ass comedian made towards some guy, the joke featured a harsh comment about Owen Hart.
I am sorry if I has mis-understood this, but Scott Hall was a bit tipsy, heard the joke and then punched the "comedian" and then ripped him infront of everyone...
also, are Sheik and Hall on good terms, I have no reason to see why they are not. Ivan Koloff (I think) got up after Hall was dismissed and made point that the joke was unfair and not at all nice, but they should move on from the scene that just occurred and enjoy the evening.

I hate the way people are still bitter about the MSJ. It was over ten years ago, get on with it?
I have not bothered to spend enough time reading up, but from what I understand, Bret was champ, he was leaving for WCW, Vince knew this and Bret was not willing to drop the title? It was mainly a business decision.. I presume I have got the story wrong and there was more of an ulterior motive for it.. but all I know is, Bret is Bitter.
Misawa
11-10-2008, 09:46 PM
Bret was World Champion and sold out to WCW - they offered him more money than Vince was prepared to. He didn't want to drop the belt in Canada, but Vince wanted him to lose it at the Survivor Series event and agreed with Bret not to. People jump the gun and think that Vince is some evil guy for screwing him legitimately, but Bret figuratively (and literally) spat in the face of Vince, and the fans who had supported him throughout his WWF career. He was the top dog in the WWF at the time, was being paid a lot. He disgraced the WWF by selling out, and he deserved all he got. As Vince said at the press conference, Bret screwed Bret.

TNA really does confuse me, and its not like im thick, I like to think of myself as a smart wrestling fan (i lold). But c'mon.. a bimbo match?
I imagine Jarrett's match was quite emotional?
WWE news.. Knoxville "has issued a challenge" to Khali for Raw.. "sky+ raw!"

Couldn't care less about Jarrett's return to be honest, and it didn't seem all that big of a deal on the show.
And yeah, way to degrade their women by calling them bimboes.

TNA is really going downhill lol. They're just grabbing the WWE's offcasts :S

That's what they've done since '02.

If I'm right they currently have:
dudleys, rhyno, christian, booker T, that arab (not sure of his name) kurt angle, foley.
Misawa

On their CURRENT roster, they have:
Sheik Abdul Bashir A.K.A. Daivari
BG James A.K.A. Road Dogg
Booker T
Christian Cage A.K.A. Christian
Christy Hemme
Earl Hebner
Jacqueline
Jeff Jarrett
Jim Cornette
Kip James A.K.A. Billy Gunn
Matt Morgan
Mick Foley
Rhino
Scott Steiner
Sharmell
Team 3D
All former employees of WWE. And that's not counting the various talent on their roster who have had developmental deals in the past with WWe. It's also not counting WWE stars who went to TNA but are no longer there, such as Ron Killings (who originated in WWE as K-Kwik, returned as R-Truth), Black Reign (Goldust), Jeff Hardy, etc, etc.

Also, is it fair to say that Dustin Rhodes may be back on his way to the WWE? Im sure he could have another IC Title run?
It just goes to show that all these wrestlers who left WWE for TNA, now want back.. shows the grass is not always greener.

Rhodes has had so many runs with WWE it's hard to tell. I believe he is signing a Legends contract (it's beyond me why) shortly, and he's probably going to be at Cyber Sunday on-camera in some respect, regardless of the poll.

Big Show vs Taker rematch at Cyber Sunday. Stipulations announced on Smackdown this week. It will most likely be fans choose the match.
The choices would be brilliant if it was like Casket, buried alive etc. Probly end up benefiting the Big show though if Vickie sets the choices though.

All matches have the poll gimmick attached. The three stipulations will be announced on SmackDown and the voting will begin for that match.

I hope its buried alive match. DO you think they'll need an extra large coffin for big show?

Lol the voting is fixed anyway. I can't see the honky tonk man doing lots with that finger of his.

I wish they would have an inferno match.. but its not PG... but it would fit in with WWE SVR09. lol.
It will be lame stips. Cage. Coffin and MMA are my pics.

The Steel Cage match is SO overused in the WWE.

Yeah, I think so too. I prefer HIAC tbh. Just saw Cena on a poster for Survivor Series.

The thing is, they used to be GREAT when they had "over the top" finishes, i dont mean crazy finishes (although they can be good), but over the cage finishes made them so more exciting.. going through the door is lame.
Knowing "the general public" *cough, WWE bookers*. It will be MMA to fit in with the storyline.

Or a boxing match.

On the subject of finishers, I hate the way that they can pin someone 1,2,3 with it? Surely being thrown off the top turn buckle would hurt more than a little DDT lmao.

Sadly, I feel I have to go down this route...
Its scripted. Moves are performed with tricks to make it look like there is more impact.
Sorry :<

Yeah I know it's scripted but it's stupid if you ask me lol. The Stone Cold Stunner was a good finisher, that involves taking someones head and ramming it off your shoulder at high impact :P

Lance Cade was crap anyway, I can pull better talent out of my ass.
