Legato is my all time favourite villian. He is soooooo awesome and his on screen presence is unlike any other I've come across. It's so powerful and you never know what to expect from him. The scene where he killed all of those guys in the bar with his mind was just fffwooaahhh! Theres not a word for it. I also loved the scene where him and Vash were sitting at each side of a fountain in a busy town and a kid came over to Legato and Vash suddenly saw a vision of Legato squeezing the kids head, which I assume Legato put into Vash's mind. Legato was also the only one who really knew how to make Vash suffer, and that he did. What a legend.

I also thought that Knives was another great villain. His awakening in the manga is mind-blowing and his personality is simply perfect for his role. That's what I love about Trigun. The characters are so unique, well developed and realistically protrayed that they just can't be compared to anyone. Upon first watching the series you don't really realise it, but thinking back to it now you realise that Trigun did indeed have some truly fantastic characters.

Also, just watched Eden 10 and damn what drama! That was intense! I now expect the climax to be nothing less than amazing. Why the hell do soft subs overlap each other though!? Is it really that hard to fix!? It ruins my viewing pleasure and makes things confusing because I'm unable to read some subtitles and therefore miss out on the important plot points! I have to rip the subtitles after to read what some lines said, since I couldn't see while watching the episode because they overlapped each other! This problem never occurs in hard subs or avi files, so whhhy!? Seriously, fansubbers fix this! :evil:

Pretty much.. i rarely buy games now. Plus i have a job, which im in the middle of looking for something else. so i can get more money lol. Main reason i have money is i dont go out and waste it on drink. Plus my mates prefer going to places like costa and crap so i dont waste alot of money which leaves me with cash to splash.

plus display case was from ikea xD £35. and the dvds are only ever £20 or less. i pay like £24 for funimation dvds tho like one piece and d.grayman

The restored ultimate edition DVD doesn't look that amazing to be honest. I assume BluRay will be no different.

And for your information the Wii has got some pretty good games coming out. I'm not sure if you watched Nintendo's presentation at E3 but more Mario and Metroid can never go amiss. Plus more No More Heroes, Red Steel and I think The Conduit is out very soon. Also, you have to admit that Smash Bros is a GOOD GAME! I must confess I rarely play games anymore though. Unless a new Zelda comes out I'm not that hyped.

The only RPG I am interested in is Fire Emblem, which belongs to Nintendo so I have all I want already. Every other RPG I play is for PC, so I just download 'em. Anyway, what the hell are you on about? The Xbox isn't full with JRPG's, it's not even Japanese. The PS3 has a lot of good ones, the Wii has a few, I didn't think the Xbox had any.

The entire anime is presented out of sequence. It won't make sense until you're atleast half way through. I'll explain the basic story to keep you interested though... in the 1700s a group of people on a ship were all granted the power of immortality. They disbanded after reaching land, but by chance they all come together again on a train journey to a city whose name escapes me. A large amount of tension has grown among the immortals since they got their power, so coming in contact with another is the last thing any of them wanted to do, especially since the only way the immortals can die is by the hands of another immortal. At the same time, the train is being robbed by a gang of thieves and there is also a mass murderer on board who goes by the name 'Rail Tracer'. No one knows who or what it is, but it keeps killing people at random. Of course, there is much more to it than that but they are the main events that all happen on the train journey, which is most of the anime.

It might not sound it, but Baccano is one of the most hardcore series out there! Take a look at these short scenes. That might as well be considered anime. It totally ruins the point of manga in my opinion. It's all about imagination! That's what is so good about books, each and every person has their own interpretation. It's just not as good if the panels are already animated for you, or if the characters have voices. It just doesn't drag me in, there is no freedom as a reader. Everyone is seeing the same thing, it's plastered into your head - thats not what books are about!

Yea and i agree. But as its own thing it would still be awesome. like you know how the anime is sometimes diffrent in the art style fromt he manga. this way would keep it. Plus im sure people who wouldnt normaly read manga would be prepared to give it a try.

And im sure if they made it with options would please people like you. so instead of the animation, it could make it like a slide show with the frames, turn music or/and voice acting off. Theres a market for this T.T . Go on dragons den >.> xD

I have to wait until September until the second 20th Century Boys movie, and then another half a year for the last one. :'( Gotta wait a couple of months until the Eureka Seven movie and Musashi: Dream of the Last Samurai, half a year for Summer Wars and another half a year until the Utawarerumono OVA is complete as well. :P

Gonna watch some pokémon movies, I've seen 1, 3, 8 and 10, so gonna watch the others that interest meet. Giratina and the Sky warrior is up next.

Two is fantastic, four is average, five is also pretty average but I liked it. Six is again average, but I liked it better than five. I haven't seen seven. Nine is the first movie with the new voice actors and its pretty bad, especially after the surprising success of the eigth movie. You might also want to check out the special 'Mewtwo Strikes Back'. I thought it was very good. :D

A serious tone, eh? I like. :D I'm currently going through all of Hosoda Mamoru's movies and One Piece is next on my list. I recently rewatched all of the Digimon movies he directed and oh my god they were actually fantastic! I never really liked the TV series, but I've always loved the movies since I was a kid. Actually, the One Piece movie is last on my list then I've seen all of his movies so far. :D

Are you mad? What part of my post sounded like hate? I LOVE Pokemon and I LOVE the dub, MUCH better than the Japanese audio. MUCH. I was just saying how the Japanese version must be quite different because of the characters names, so quit making assumptions. I loved they way they incorporated Ash's name into the legend and the way it played out in the second movie, the development was very good... so why do you seem to think I'm complaining about it like it's a bad thing? TV Tokyo do the subtitles and they're never late because they have a contract to follow. The episode is on the wesbite, on time as usual, but HorribleSubs just haven't ripped it yet. HorribleSubs don't sub anything just so you know. It's only been a day, they're hardly taking 'so long'. Also... there is a Gintama thread! >_<

I finished Baccano! last night, and i really did like it. The way it was set out confused me a bit at times but it was still great. I loved Isaac and Miria and ladd was just badass.

After about four or five episodes it all starts making sense though, doesn't it. :P Although it's best to watch it twice because some events that happen right at the back of the timeline are actually shown in early episodes. I'm on episode eight at the moment, re-watching it! :D First time watching it my favourite characters were Isacc, Miria and Jacuzzi but this time I'm really liking Ladd. He is so awesome an amazing villain. He shoots a kid in the face at point blank range with a shotgun TWICE and punches a guy in the face continiously until he dies. Badass or what!? Also... "Thank you, **** you! A villain has arrived!" Damn he is a good character! :P

I recommend the OVA. The new villain is a crazy ass guy voiced by the same person who does Gintoki. :D It's also a nice finishing point and it's told in sequence, so it isn't the least bit confusing.

"He had no choice but to become a prince. At least since he realized that without a sacrifice called a "prince", the tomorrow we hoped for would never come. Thus reluctantly, he became one. In this world with no princes. Speaking of which, just how did he become a prince? I still haven't figured out that mystery."

Eden is extremely different to anything I assume you've seen thus far, so I guess you're either going to love it or hate it. I'd recommend Welcome to the NHK though.

So the novels are actually a little different then? They had the first one all over the expo and I was going to buy it but I assumed it was pretty much the same as the anime and that it would be like reading nothing new... so I decided to leave it. If there are differences I might give it a read however. I'm going on holiday soon so maybe I could add it to my list of books to read while travelling. :P

Genshiken has an on-going story until the end with a few stand alone episodes here and there, School Rumble is episodic. Don't dismiss episodic anime though. Samurai Champloo is mainly episodic and that kicks ass. So is Mushishi and I'd consider that one of the best series ever made if you take every aspect into consideration. Cowboy Bebop is mainly episodic as well, it's exactly like Champloo. It has a main story but thats not the focus until later on, first you get all of these sub-stories which are actually really good. Oh and Gintama is episodic.

Heh, fair enough. Be sure to tell me just how crap the ending of Soul Eater is though because theres no way I'm getting there any time soon. :P Might drop it even though I've only got another eight or so episodes to go. :eusa_wall

For short series I recommend Diebuster (AKA Gunbuster 2, but don't worry you don't have to watch Gunbuster before you watch Diebuster) or FLCL (Furi Kuri, Fooly Cooly). Both are made by Gainax so they're both mecha shows with insane action, both on an epic scale. Gurren Lagann is actually like Diebuster's next of kin. Seriously, watching Diebuster is like watching another TTGL, it's awesome. Both were made a few years ago, so the animation is modern and kicks ass, nothing old. Good characters, good story, reeeeeeaaalllllllllllllllyyyyyy good action. Both series are six episodes long. I'll leave you with some screenshots.

yea One Piece's episode count is alot to put people off. + you have
9 Movies (10 out this year), 2 OVAS, 4 Tv speacials, 5 mini shorts, And a few movie teaser things. short ova before the film.

Ive managed to get another 2 people to watch it this week and they are now going to be watching it regulary. Good thing about OP having 400 episodes is you dont need to wait a week for the ep lol.

Oh my god holy **** I forgot all about Kaiji! It's an anime about a total loser who trys to get out of his troubles through continued gambling which then gets him into even deeper trouble. However some mysterious man shows up at his door and offers him a place on this luxery gambling cruise where, if he wins, he will be able to pay off all his debts, but if he losses it would be tripled or something like that and he'd have to work in a forced labor camp for fifteen years to pay it off. It's so damn good, and when have you seen an anime about gambling before? Never! That's right. Never have I felt so sorry for a character in my life and also if you liked the mind games of Death Note then Kaiji is right up your alley. It also has a pretty interesting style. Deep characters and a realistic, dramatic, gripping storytelling that sticks like super glue and never lets go as well! Plus theres going to be a second season! Hell yes! Kaiji! Kaiji! Kaiji! Oh and there are no women in Kaiji. It's a mans anime for manly men!

Isn't the dub always something new? They aren't offically released until it's out on DVD so thats the first time everyone see's them. I want to see the differences sometimes but end up just going "nah I won't like it so I won't even bother seeing what it's like" Thats what I was like when watching Neon Genesis Evangelion yesterday lol. Theres this really awkward scene and I wanted to see what it sounded like in English but I can't stand Asuka's American voice actor, so I didn't bother.

Well a lot of DVDs in the past have been released without dubs, so it's not something they haaaaaaave to do, but more recently everyone seems to be dubbing things. Viz don't rush stuff, they take aaaaaaaaagggggggeeeeeessssssss.

Kakashi Gaiden was so well told, ah it was amazing. I think they should do more stuff about characters back story.
Rin did die in the end though right?, I remember in one episode Kakashi said "I couldnt even protect Rin". I knew Obito was gonna' die but I felt sad the way they told it.
I thought it was one of the best eps of Naruto ;)

well.. im planning on buying the soul eater dvds. i dont want to have a big gap in the middle lol so ill just buy them all. Dub sometimes makes it slightly better like OP movie 8. and in some peoples opinions. DBZ.

Anyway i got my FMA S2:P1 today. 1 more set and i have all of fma on dvd apart from the ova collection thats coming out soon. so ill get started on the manga since im almost finished Z.

im thinking about selling my dbz season sets. if the Dragon box has the dub on it i may sell. but i may keep them. I was going to buy the dragonball set thats out soon and the 2 GT but if theres gonna be dragonbox releases i dno :S

QUITE GOOD!? The Girl Who Leapt Through Time is the best anime movie ever made. Period. Gotta give it to Manga though, they onlt mucked up one scene and it wasn't major. Did you cry at the end? Tell me you cried. I can't be the only one who cried.

Episode 24 is ******* amazing. Thinking of that fight between Medusa and Stein gives me a boner.

The moment Stein cut Medusa in half couldn't get any better. Perfect episode, one of the best. Ever. It's a shame Soul Eater went downhill so fast because it had such great potential.

Same director. You'll spot similarities throughout. Champloo is, in my opinion, one of the most perfect series ever made. There is nothing I found wrong with it. Bebop is amazing, but Champloo is even better.

So I'm back from holiday and I read the first Haruhi novel. To my surpise, it was absolutely fantastic. Maybe even better than the anime. Loved every second. I think I'm back into novels now. Hurry up and release the second one!

Why? Anime is a medium, just like films, with the power to have an emotional impact on you. Crying isn't taboo. If something or anything effects you emotionally then let it all out!

Well thats soul eater, i dont see why you guys hated the ending so much, it wasnt brilliant but it wasnt horrible. Still quite liked the series, not the best but its pretty good.

Gintoki is the only one who can stop them because he is already a lazy old man. :P The elevator scene is hilarious as well. Just watched Rebuild of Evangelion 2.0: You Can (Not) Advance. Words cannot express how good it was. I couldn't have wished for anything better. It was perfect. I think I'll have to place it above The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and say... best anime movie ever.

I'm pretty sure you haven't. Gintoki and the gang get parts of their bodies turned into screwdrivers by aliens and enter an online RPG game to look for them and get their body parts back. While in the game they meet up with Kondo, Hijikata, Okita and Katsura who have also had their body parts turned into screwdrivers. Yup ive seen it. its all coming back to me. With kondo in the internet cafe n stuff and they spy on the aliens outside the temple or something along the lines of that... either way, nothing beats the otaku arc.

Ah yes thats right, I gave you the links to the fansubbed episodes before they were all removed. Comedy wise the Screwdriver arc is on par with the Otsu arc in my opinion. The Yoshiwara arc has the best action, but I think the Itou arc is the best overall. Closely followed by the Kyubei arc and the Benizakura arc.
