They are indeed... there was another one in episode 10, with the assistant of that Amanto prince saying it instead.

I urge you to go. Evangelion 2.0 is the best anime film I have ever seen. Although you'll appreciate it much better if you have seen the original series first!

I'm waiting for Sci-Fi London to reveal their anime all nighter lineup for this year. I hope they show Evangelion 2.0. Although I hope they don't show it last like they did with Evangelion 1.0 last year. I was knackered by that point!

I might go £10 for 2 movies is pretty good. probably is just finding someone to go with.

Hopefully the post is back to normal tommorow still waiting on tons of stuff.

May start watching N.G.E tonight.. i still have 4 discs of the 1st Dragon Box to watch. All depends if i can be bothered

Theres about three or four throughout the series I think. There are a ton of recurring motifs in Gintama. :P

That's still there, albeit a little ruined by Habbos updates (cameras don't work and the windows overlap the posters). I kept all of my good rooms (except one) but gave away all of my other furni a couple of months back. My room designing days are long gone. :P

At the Expo there are a ton of Narutards and other people who think anime is the best thing in the world when they've only seen a couple of series, but there are so many decent people to talk to as well. I'm sure it'll be the same at the Eva screening.

Even went I went to the all nighter (the screen I was in sat around 250 people) some guy was sitting next to me who loved Guyver! I've never met another Guyver fan, or even another person who knows about Guyver. It's a small world after all. :8

Biggest understatement of the year so far! One Piece fans are taking over the world! No one likes Bleach anymore, and even Naruto is dying down. There were more Luffy cosplayers than Naruto cosplayers last time I went to the expo, which is incredibly surprising because there first time I went I must have seen 50+ Naruto's.

Also, my friend (who is a huge One Piece fan) was telling me today how he was in an internet cafe last weekend and some guy come and sat at the computer next to him, opened up onemanga.com and started reading the latest chapter of One Piece. This is a true story, no lie! The fans are all around us.

Southe,

pity none of them come on here then eh lol. and even more reason to carry on with my site. The only diffrence with OP compared to naruto and bleach is its actually good and Oda is a genius. You should really read it D: hes great at forshadowing and he has a master plan. dosent just make stuff up.

There are only around six or seven active members in this section, you can't expect them to be One Piece fans. :P

Also, I gotta disagree with that statement. Sure Bleach has long since lost its way, but the first one hundred and fifty so episodes (excluding the fillers of course) were well worth watching. The Soul Society arc was fantastic and I'd still rate episode 121 as one of my favourite anime episodes of all time, and also Grimmjow vs Ichigo (1st time) as one of my favourite fights.

It's a fairly long series so it'll probably be more of a long term dedication and I also have other series I want to complete and get up to date with first; Vagabond being my highest priority since Takehiko Inoue said it's going to end this year after 12 years of publication! :O I definitely want to get around to One Piece though. I was also looking at akira Toriyama's Dr. Slump earlier and that looked pretty funny.

Also, in a completely unrelated topic - Avatar Book 3 is finally coming out over here ( on the 1st of February) after two damn years of waiting. They've really ****** us over though. The region 2 DVDs have no extras what so ever and don't even have the simple stuff such as subtitles. Paramount and Nickelodeon have really ****** us over. The region 2 Book 3 boxset is 125 minutes shorter than the region 1 boxset because all of the extras have been removed. Why would you do that? Why wouldn't you include the extras? Why? Theres no point in removing them. None what-so-ever. I hate you Nickelodeon!

Import them then.

And enis lobby > Bleach ( from what i seen which was 70ish eps )
Yea i heard about vagabond ending on ANN.

And i havent read Dr slump yet but its suppose to be good, and well yea sure One Piece is long but it wouldnt hurt to read a few chapters now and then until you complete the series your wanting to finish lol.

and one person should atleast OP D: i know Jord watched it but that was the 4kids which dosent count in my books no idea how far he got in the sub.

don't consider for to long lol. Tons of stuff to watch.
430 eps think it is, 4 tv specials, 5 mugiwara theatre shorts, 9 movies, 2 ovas, 2 movie shorts, 2 crossovers with dragonball, Jango dance thing.

Everyone gets into it diffrently most people tend to get into it at arlong bit which is late 30s, tho you have few short arcs before which you may get into, arabasta and sky pia are good but the truley awesomeness dosent start tilll past ep 200, also dnt let animation put off at the start.. It was made in 1998 lol. Gets better later on

Me and my friends are thinking of going to the London Expo this year. If there is one or where ever it is at.
Waiting for my EMA Christmas Bonus to come in so I can purchase my first anime box set, thinking of TTGL, Bebop or Welcome To The NHK. Does anyone know what ones are released in whatever region we're in and how much, and where?
Im a noob with DVDS. I want a snow day today so I can stay off catch up on coursework and anime. I get too distracted by Call of Duty and Final Fantasy when I try to watch an anime. Gaming is my downfall.

I'd rather not import them. It costs more and if there are region 2 DVDs I would rather have them. I'm just saying how its totally pointless to give us the short stick.

But what would be the point in reading a few chapters? :P Take a look at my manga list on MyAnimeList, its rather full at the moment and I'd rather not start more series just yet. Believe me though, One Piece is among the next mangas I will start, along with Berserk and Gantz. ;)

Gurren Lagann costs a bomb, though you do get some good extras with it and Welcome to the NHK isn't out in the UK. The Bebop boxset is a good choice though. :D

I'm currently snowed in again. Snow is always ruining my day! I wanted to see Daybreakers today and Avatar again tomorrow but I guess that ain't gonna happen.

Also, there are also tons of games making their UK and sometimes world debut at the Expo. You'd probably get distracted by them n'all haha.

Dvds normaly are better quality in the US. cases are alot fancier aswell. And yea it is but we get it from everywhere so bleh.

Because its long enough as it is xD well suppose by june 54 volumes will be out in english so if you d ecide you like it can always buy them.

GL will set you back a bit luckily i have it all now, Beez recently released a new Bebop boxset which is about 30ish. and NHK is US only. The one i got contains all the episodes but thats about £35 and you might get hit with a fee which is another £12

Theres a new anime out by the creator of Baccano! called Durarara!! From the first episode I gather its about a headless motorcycle rider that goes around kicking the crap out of gangsters. It's pretty awesome so far.

Theres also a character in it who has never seen a black person before.

Also i caught up on FMA:B last night i was falling asleep and then i heard Nakai Kazuya speak and was like, O.O Zoro thought i was watchign FMA and i was like awesome. So they had Nakai Kazuya and Yao Kazuki so i was happy. Thats 3 animes they have been on at the same time now. One Piece, Death Note and FMA:B awesome..

The Tokyo Shimbun paper reports (http://www.tokyo-np.co.jp/s/article/2010011890160003.html) that Daisuke Gouri (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/people.php?id=871), the voice actor (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/lexicon.php?id=75) best known for playing Robin Mask in the Kinnikuman (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=1513) television anime series as well as Umigame and Mr. Satan in the Dragon Ball (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=243)franchise (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/lexicon.php?id=70), has passed away in Tokyo on Sunday. He was 57. The newspaper reports that Gouri was discovered, with blood dripping from his arm, by a passerby on a street in Nakano ward. Police officers at Nakano station are investigating his death as a possible suicide. According to the authorities, Gouri apparently collapsed face-down onto the street at about 3:00 p.m. The newspaper adds that a knife or similar object was found nearby along with a last will.

Also played bunch of people from One Piece. most recently Jimbei who has only been in like 3 episodes wonder how far he recorded.

also Isamu Tanonaka passed away from a heart attack and he voiced bunch of people in DB aswell.

Woah, you have no idea how furious your post makes me. I've told you before and I'll tell you again; the Rebuild of Evangelion tetralogy is a reimagining of the series made to be more accessible to people who are perhaps not familiar with the original series, or people who didn't like it. The first movie was released in 2007, with the second in 2009. Everything in the movies, from the animation to the characters, is completely redone. If not for the name 'Evangelion' and its subject matter and characters, it would almost be completely unrelated to the origina series - its that different. So please don't jump to conclusions just because you didn't like the series. Hell, you would probably even like the movies. They have the best animation and action sequences I have ever seen. Yes, better than Sword of the Stranger. At least watch the trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1CNWntwTSI) before casting judgments.

Well its whats expected to happen due to the various hints Sunrise have given us and the countdown in the latest episodes. It's not bad though, since unlike the other big shounens Gintama's producers don't want to ruin the series with constant fillers. Although Gintama's fillers are pretty damn good. Same time i got into one piece. so i basically dropped bleach lol. i do watch/buy the dvds as there released tho. imo dosent compare to One Piece.

Watch the films. the series is a bit dull at the start compared to later episodes. so if you enjoy the films then ull like the series. if not atleast give strong world a go when its out. And yes naruto is awful. took me lon time to notice tho.

That's why you skip the fillers because they are irrelevant. :P My point was that even though Bleach isn't what it used to be, I still love it because of the amount of good points the series does have.

Oh I should point out that I haven't watched Bleach in about seven months so I'm way behind now. I'm at the part where the Soul Reapers and Espada have just started fighting and it is seriously dragging on. As if Kenpachi's fight didn't take long enough now we have to watch another 100 more that take even longer. The pacing could be drastically improved. If the animation didn't drop in quality every now and then and if the pacing was good, excluding the fillers Bleach would be a solid series.

I was just pointing out that there are a load of fillers which is what made me drop the series, despite the good points. Also its not about it having fillers thats annoying (well it is), but the fact they come at the most random bits and just as you are getting into the main series.

Bleach fillers always start at the end of an arc, not at random intervals.

Bleach Zanpakutou filler: started in the middle of Fake Karakura town arc.

Bounto filler: Did actually start at the end of Soul Society arc.

Crap Princess whatever arc: Started in the middle of the Hueco Mundo arc.

Neversoft

Every filler arc is the start of a new arc, and the arc before it ends. It's just that some arcs end on cliffhangers which makes it seem like the fillers cut the other arcs short.

Axel
21-01-2010, 06:47 PM
Ye, but they are completely random. With the Bounto arc, it went in flow with the storyline, and after the events in Soul Society, the Bounto stuff started. With the princess arc and Zanpakutou arc, they're a time skip to a story in a different period of time, like a few months later or something.

Neversoft
21-01-2010, 07:55 PM
I know. Nemo's post made it seem like they started randomly in the middle of an arc though, so I was just saying how they actually start when one arc is finished and then end when another starts. Bleach only has about three main stories, but around nine official arcs between them. They can't afford to wait until the complete story is over before introducing fillers.

On the final days of World War II, 14-year-old Seita and his four-year-old sister Setsuko are orphaned after their mother is killed during an air-raid by American forces in Kobe, Japan. After having a falling-out with their aunt, they move into an abandoned bomb shelter. With no surviving relatives and their emergency funds and rations depleted, Seita and Setsuko must struggle to survive their hardships as well as those of their country, which is on the losing end of the war.

You would prefer? What do you mean? No US licensor has even licensed it yet. Plus Beez really need to improve on both their subtitles and dubs. I was a little disappointed with what they did to Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. For one its not 'Giga Drill Break', it certainly isn't 'Gurren Lagarn' and Simon's name in English would be Simon not Seemoan! Also, it's 'who the hell do you think I am!?' not 'who in the hell do you think I am!?', and Beez seem to forget that the series has Tengen Toppa in the title. Nevertheless, the limited edition sets they released over here were really good, albeit extremely overpriced.

I know now one has but the dvds im guessing sold well so they will probably release them at some point.

I only really own GL from Beez. i do have Outlaw star from bandai but thats a diffrent part of the company im guessing. And i didnt really watch the dub dont really care for them, dub is just a bonus for me id be happy with sub only.

And yes there are a few minor nick picks but i deal with them only when stuff like disc 3 dosent display the subs or random £$%^&*() annoys me.

I do remember reading something about the whole break/breaker thing and it was down to the way the japanese say break ah or some crap like that no idea of thats true or not but they do say words diffrently.

Neversoft
28-01-2010, 11:34 PM
If they lowered the right then they might sell well.

I have Diebuster from Beez and it has the same problems as Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. Theres the most epic move ever called the 'Buster Beam Slice' but the Beez subs call it the 'Buster Beam Slash'. I wouldn't mind, but the character is speaking in ENGLISH and clearly says slice. How can you make that kind of mistake!? Not forgetting to mention Diebuster is overpriced as well. I paid £20 for my DVD and the series is only six episodes long, comes with no dub and very few extras.

Also, I'm not expert on the Japanese language but I'm sure the Japanese would prenounce 'break' ad 'breaku' in a conversation. Kamina clearly says 'BREAKEEEEERRRRRAAAAAAHHHHHH'. It's even more apparent the characters are saying 'breaker' when Kittan says it in episode twenty five. It's just like to whole slice/slash issue above. Beez make some silly mistakes. :(

Yes, Manga have Evangelion 1.0 but I think they are only distributing it for Funimation. I'm not sure if Manga have actually licensed it in the UK. You're comparing eight single DVDs with a boxset, of course the boxset is going to be cheaper.

Also, thin cases are lame. They're flimsy and break easier. Plastic cases are much better.

Am I the only one that found Lagann-hen extremely disappointing? Apart from the fist fight, it didn't seem as... well, I hesitate to use the word epic, but I'm going to. It didn't seem as epic as the series for some reason.

One of the main reasons was the music. It was badly timed and I definitely preferred the TV series music.

Another thing was the voice acting. What the **** happened? It was better on TV. Kittans' voice was way to high pitched, and lord genome also suffered the same problem.

Which did you prefer, the series or the movie?

Neversoft
05-02-2010, 08:23 PM
I didn't find it extremely disappointing, but maybe I was expecting a little more. Nevertheless I was still quite satisfied. I do agree with you though, it didn't seem as epic as the series was and one of the main reasons why was definitely the music, and even the sound effects that could have been turned up a couple of notches to give it that extra umph.

The music was pretty much nonexistant until the end; it either didn't fit what was on screen or wasn't at a loud enough volume when compared to the dialogue. Even when they finally did play Libera Me From Hell it didn't come with the epicness that it had in the series, or even in the first movie.

I didn't mind Lord Genome's voice, but I did notice that Kittan's voice was a little out of it. Especially during the King Kittan Giga Drill Breaker scene. I could tell it was redubbed because of that little chuckle he does after experiencing all that spiral power. It just wasn't the same as the one I had come to love in the series.

I think I speak for the majoirty of people when I say I prefer the series, but thats not to say the movies were bad. I still enjoyed them immensely and would recommend them to other fans.

It's Hayao Miyazaki season on Film4 people. Princess Mononoke was on tuesday, and My Neighbour Totoro was on yesterday. Nausicaa is on today at 3:05pm, and Porco Rosso is on tomorrow at 1pm I think. They're dubbed but Miyazaki's films generally have good dubs. Dakota Fanning provided the voice for the main character in Totoro and she did extremely well.

Naruto is boring me. New topic.

Great teacher onizuka. I watched the first episode and quite liked it, but i cant find the rest of the episodes in sub! Alas i shall keep searching since i didnt search very much.

Anyone else seen it?

I watched the first two episodes a while back and enjoyed them but haven't bothered seeing the rest for some reason. I might buy the manga instead.

" The North American anime distributor Media Blasters (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/company.php?id=7) has confirmed that it has licensed the Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=7767) anime series in its retail solicitation list for May 2010. The first English-subtitled DVD volume will ship on May 25. The high school comedy centers around a pathologically depressed teacher who somehow finds the will to deal with a class of oddball students. "

Awesome.

I recorded Nausicaa and am watching it right now and oh my god the dub cast is awesome! Patrick Stewart, Uma Thurman, Shia Labeouf, Chris Sarandon, Mark Hamill and Edward James Olmos all provide voices. Not to mention music by Joe Hisaishi and animation by Hideaki Anno, and to top it off its directed by Miyazaki. What an amazing team.

Also, seeing as how I haven't bought anything in ages I decided to get myself a new manga from Waterstones. I went with S.S. Astro. It's a four-panel manga in the format of Azumanga Daioh, only more mature. Looks preeeetty good. :D

Just saw Mind Game and wow wow wow wow wow wow what a film! It has some of the most daring, experimental and just plain amazing sequences and ideas ever committed to any medium. No joke. It's worth watching for the climax alone. A mind game indeed - my mind was officially blown. I can't recommend this film more. What an experience.

Theres a good chance that both Summer Wars and Rebuild of Evangelion 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance are going to be shown at Sci-Fi London's next Anime All-Nighter. **** yes! I am so hyped! I just hope they show Evangelion first so I will be able to give it my full attention without being knackered.

I was talking to some people who had seen Evangelion 2.0 at the Glasgow Film Festival the other day and they were explaining the experience. Saying how everyone was gripping their armrests during the climax and how everyone started cheering, applauding and stamping their feet when the film finished. Must have been one hell of an experience. I doubt it'll be the same at Sci-Fi London, since the film isn't being shown alone, but as part of an all-nighter event so the majority of the people there are tired, but I can hope! :P

I must see Evangelion 2.0 on the big screen! The low quality camrip blew my mind, I can't imagine what it would be like in the cinema. I'm not going to drink anything so I won't need to go to the toilet. I'll never forgive myself if I miss even a second. I had to rush out of Evangelion 1.0 as soon as the credits started rolling at the last all-nighter because I was bursting for a piss, so I missed the preview for 2.0 at the end. :(

Ending as in end of the episode or the ending theme?

I liked the ending theme for 45 where it shows where everyone is and what they're up to as a lot of **** is going down right now, like right at the end it shows the remaining homunculi in their lair gathered around Father.

And I'm not gonna bother with spoiler tags because this isn't a spoiler.

I think everyone hates Narutards, haha. I was watching a video about the Rebuild of Evangelion movies on YouTube the other day and one guy commented saying...

"I for one hate the fact that these Narutards are going to be watching the same films as me without ever having watched the original series. I actually vomited a little in my mouth when i first thought about it."

I found it hilarious but also undeniably true. :P Narutards need to realise Naruto isn't the only anime ever made and need to acknowledge that anime did exist before Naruto was made. They're so ignorant.

The anime is expected to end at episode 201 where TV Tokyo will then broadcast reruns of previous episodes in a random order. A lot of people make a living by working at a till. Hell, my neighbour two doors up is a clerk and he seems to get by fine.

Watch EyeShield 21, The whole series is up on Crunchyroll.
Only downside is there is a 30 second advert in the middle but if your lucky you'll get the StarBust contradictions add which is this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L3kpyJI2JBo

lol.. sterotypes.. atleast there wasnt a ginger xD and its Scot not Scotch. get enough of americans saying that D:

Said real World not real Job. Eveyone has to start somewhere part time or full time.

i get almost £500 just for 19 hours. of a half effort job. and Waiting to get into a railway for tickets.. which will earn me over a grand for 24 hrs aweek and thats all done on till like machines.
Whole reason i even got my interview was due to me working in a shop and having customer expierance..

Just get by tho. Not something you want to do for ever. Unless its your own shop.

Stupid link i just pasted the link my mate sent me, ill sort it tommorow anyway.

Aparently in lady gagas new song theres apart where someone says "wan pisu" and has the subtitles below. havent seen the vid and people say it dosent seem to be releated to a female one piece so people are assuming its a refrence to one piece. Just a rumour would be quite awesome if it was a refrence to op but we'll see people are gonna ask on her twitter and stuff.
