I think that was him, anyway... I probably posted the most, so I don't know what you're on about with this occasional business and obviously my points were a lot clearer than yours since even though we both had the same ban I was the only one able to get myself out of it.

Yep, that's the scene I posted (here (http://www.habboxforum.com/showthread.php?t=578436&p=7038936#post7038936)). The song is sooooo good and really brought out the best in Mugen's drowning/backstory sequence. I actually listened to it like 30 times the other day.

Wow, apparently Viz have cancelled the English version of Gintama at volume 23 (in Japan it's at volume 39 and counting). Seems that Nausicaa has gone out of print too, so I will never be able to get the third volume I am missing. Still no reprint for Evangelion either. I ******* hate Viz sometimes. No wonder people read manga online when all of the English publishers never print enough volumes, refuse to reprint and cancel everything all the time.

We can only hope, but I really doubt it.

Monster has most likely gone the way of Evangelion. If you can't find volume three now, chances are you'll never be able to find it becaue Viz won't order a reprint. It might pop up on ebay every now and then and go for around £60 like the NHK novel. A real shame. I would love to buy Monster as well.

What R1 DVDs? The Gintama ones? Nah, don't want them.

I like to support the industry n'all and I find sitting down with a book in hand is a lot nicer than reading something on a computer screen, but the managa industry have made a lot of crap decisions lately and deserved to be raged at, unfortunately. The anime industry on the other hand seems to be on the up! We lost like 100+ titles when ADV went bust, but we're finally many new releases, mainly from Manga Entertainment and MVM (who have been releasing a lot of classics), so rejoice for the anime industry!

OMG how have you not seen The Girl Who Leapt Through Time!? It's soooo fantastic, you're in for a treat. Summer Wars, the directors other work, is out on DVD now. I would buy it if it wasn't so damn expensive. Since when did blu-rays cost just £1 more than DVDs? You should watch Summer Wars too, it's not as good as The Girl Who Leapt Through Time but still amazing. Have you seen Mind Game? That has some supreme GAR sequences on par with Gurren Lagann.

I'd buy it if it was released over here, but I don't want to buy R1 DVDs. It costs loads of money to import and the actual creators of the anime only get a miniscule amount. I want to support the industry over here, not in America. I've seen the first DVD twice at the Expo, it was £25 but I managed to restrain myself. Maybe if there were some nice extras I might consider it, but it just appears to be just the episodes and that's it.

People on Yorozuya Soul have been asking them on twitter about it, but I don't think they've received a reply yet.

i got the 1st dvd for.. £19ish i think. its fine to support the series over here but if its not going to be released here then that should warrant buying the R1's? Sunrise will still get money that way.

I have actually been very good to the UK, "DGM Boxset, Sengoku Basra Blu Ray, Eden of the east Blu ray, Sky Crawlers Blu ray, ICR but a Ghibli Film Blu Ray, Waiting on the R2 of Eva 2.22" Ordered the Summerwars/GWLTT Blu ray boxset aswell.

Im in the middle of making the FB page, just get people to like have Viz's FB,Twitter,Email details and have people spam until we get a reply unlike other series where they dont tell us anything. If it is due to poor sales then will make an event or something for buy gintama week. People just buy the volumes they need to catch up etc should make a wee boost.

Nope. If something isn't released over here then that's that as far as I am concerned. I don't want to buy R1s and the producers actually make hardly anything from imported goods.

Amazon only have a couple of copies left of each volume. I'm guessing once they're gone no one is going to be able to get them again. I already have the first 12 volumes, going to try and get the rest asap. They're rather cheap on the book depository, but I am a little skeptical about ordering in bulk from there since they send everything out individually and things tend to get lost.

Where did you order them from? I ordered 13, 14, 16 and 17 from Amazon and 15, 18, 19, 20 and 21 from The Book Depository.

Wow, volume 17 of Claymore is £3.29 on Amazon. I think that's the cheapest I have ever seen a manga. Gonna need to buy the rest of Claymore at some point. Amazon are low on stock for that as well, I hope Viz aren't cancelling Claymore too. Need the lastest volumes of Black God and Yotsuba n'all, and I want to buy all of 20th Century Boys before it disappears like Monster. Also want to get the Viz Bigs of Vagabond, the Haruhi novels and possibly the rest of Slam Dunk (although I might sell my volumes). I want too much. :(

Oh wow, Trigun: Badlands Rumble, Ponyo, Eureka Seven: Pocket Full of Rainbows, Tales from Earthsea, Evangelion 2.0, Laputa, Sword of the Stranger, The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya, Redline and King of Thorn are all getting cinema screenings in London throughout April/May. Considering going to Sword of the Stranger, Trigun and Haruhi, wouldn't mind seeing Redline and Evangelion again either.

As much as I don't want to believe it, if they're already shipping the 23 volume with the words 'last volume' on it then I am pretty sure they're already done and dusted with the series. Would be nice if this all turns out to be one big mistake.

Nooo, the best one got removed! How could you do this to Gary Oak!? Apparently it was removed because it contained the F word, despite me giving two layers of warnings and spoiler tags to make that clear. A video posted by Stephen in the jokes section a couple of days ago also got removed because it contained the F word. Have the rules been changed or something? In the past it was always allowed as long as you gave a warning. Considering Sulake give even 13 year olds the choice to turn off the filter on Habbo now this forum really has become so immature and strict.

The truth is every single forum has its own little communities, every single online game has its own little communities, every single fandom has its own little communities, every single society has its own little communities and the list goes on. Small communities are what keep things going and I can't even begin to imagine why the hell anyone would be against them. Commentaries with the Japanese voice actors? If so then that's a good plus. The extras on the Death Note DVDs are absolute crap. Why the hell would I want to listen to commentary by the English dub cast? Why the hell would I want to watch interviews with them? Why the hell would I want to watch a behind the scenes video featuring them? They have nothing interesting to say about the series. All they had to do was read lines off a sheet of paper. Where is the animators commentary? Where is the directors commentary? Where are the interviews with the Japanese cast? For a series like Death Note, these are possibly the worst extras I have ever seen on an anime DVD. Don't think they even include a clean version of the second opening and ending either, unless they put it on the first disc for some stupid reason. Way to go, Viz. You made the boxset for one of the most entertaining series ever absolutely boring. /rant

it is the english VA commentary lol :S BUT Funimation > Viz. Do have clean openings for all and the commentary is good. depending on what series your watching. One Piece for example some of them have watched/read it/knows what happens. FMA:B one is good aswell. Before Funi only had the clean op/ed so was a welcomed extra in my case. I know FMA Movie has 2 commentarys 1 from english and 1 from japanese.

I was planning to do a One Piece site and i was doing it all on my own, then my pc knackered and i lost all my pages. then couldnt be bothered. then 6-7 months later someone i knew fixed it and got my stuff back xD. Even tho its a one piece forum it be like habbox only a section for OP then the rest for others.

Even if the English dub is good, I don't want to watch a commentary by the cast. They didn't take part in making the series one bit, all they've done is read from a script and can only assume what went on behind the scenes. Usually they have nothing interesting to say, and when they attempt to say something interesting it's either downright wrong or something everyone already knows. Commentaries should be left to those who actually know what they're doing.

I switched to the commentary in one of the episodes of Death Note the other day, it was during a scene where Light was taking advantage of Misa and all the dub cast had to say was "Oh Light, he's so awful!" Wow, thanks for letting me know.

The Evangelion commentary is even worse. I had a look at the English commentary for The End of Evangelion and the voice actors knew absolutely nothing. There's a scene at the end where blood is sprayed onto the moon and Eva Units are sticking out of the ground in a crucifix position, there's obviously a lot of symbolism in this sequence and one of the voice actors said "That's cool. I don't know what it means, but that's cool." Real helpful.

I also hate it when an American person labels themself as the 'producer' of an anime series. You're not the producer, you commissioned and oversaw the English dub. There's a huge amount of difference. It's all over MyAnimeList as well, someone needs to sort out the damn roles.

If they absolutely have to have a commentary in English, I don't know why they don't get an expert to do it. A lot of Kurosawa's old movies have experts on Japanese cinema doing the commentaries and they're actually really good.

I bet the Death Note boxset in Japan is full with so many interesting extras, but Viz are so cheap they got the dub cast to do what might as well be labeled as filler.

Got the Gintama volumes I ordered from Amazon the other day. Noticed Viz sneakily upped the price on the later volumes. Before volume 15 they were $7.99 USA / $9.50 CAN each, but after volume 15 they're $9.99 USA / $12.99 CAN each. For a manga in their Shounen Jump Advanced range that is quite appalling.

Don't know what time crunchyroll put the episode up, but HorribleSubs had it up on nyaatorrents at 9:30 this morning.

So glad they started with the time skip! There's a bunch of Dragon Ball and One Piece references and I burst out laughing when Kagura and Gintoki were assessing each others power and teleported onto Shinpachi's head. Such a brilliant start to the series! I can't wait 'til next Monday! Oh and the ending song is superb! Plus Gintama is now in 16:9! Everything about this episode was simply perfect.

Oh and the rest of my Gintama volumes came today. Looks like Viz are going to finish it off with the Screwdriver/Monkey Hunter arc if they do end it at volume 23. Volume 19 arrived fairly damaged, parts of the spine are ripped at the top and the bottom. :@

Aw, it's for 3DS? I thought it was for the normal DS, in which case I would have just downloaded the rom. :P I guess the next Pokemon game will be for 3DS as well. I've only just started playing my DS again but it looks like there is now a limit on its lifespan. I hope all handheld gaming isn't 3D after this, or they at least give you the option. I had already read five volumes of the manga by the time the anime was announced. I decided I would just be spoiling myself if I watched it. Would rather continue with the manga.

Also, I never knew Gintama's editor left after six years to edit One Piece. I'm flicking through volume 21 of Gintama and Sorachi says the following:

Mr. Oonishi is leaving, so I'm worried about my future. But I'm not the only one who's worried, Mr. Oonishi is too. He's editing One Piece now. In our last meeting, Mr. Oonishi was very quiet and he looked deathly pale. His lips were dry too. He's a nervous wreck and he hasn't even met Oda sensei yet. Well, I can understand how he feels. I was so afraid of Oda sensei that it took me three years to talk to him. At the New Year's party my first year here, I spotted Oda sensei across the room and Mr. Oonishi told me to go say hello to him. But Oda sensei's aura was overwhelming. The power of his spirit made me faint, so I made an excuse. "I'm sure he's never heard of Gintama. It'll probably end soon anyway," I said. Fortunately, Gintama has survived, and I had another opportunity to meet Oda sensei the next year at Jump Festa. Mr. Oonishi said, "You have to go say hello to him this time." But I said, "Wait. If I say hello to him this year, he'll be offended that I didn't say hello to him last year." And Mr. Oonishi said, "By that logic you'll never be able to say hello to him." While we were still arguing like this, Oda sensei casually walked past me in the hallway, so I said hell to him, almost in a falsetto. He just said, "Oh, hi." He completely mistook me for one of the backstage staff (Ha). He walked on without stopping. Finally, this year, at the tenth year anniversary celebration for One Piece, I managed to tell him, "Congratulations!"

That's how I felt, so it's understandable that Mr. Oonishi was scared, but it was really terrible. It's the last job of the outgoing editor to smooth the transition for the new editor, but instead we let work slide and the second half of the meeting turned into a big pep talk for Mr. Oonishi. Mr. Saito's first job for Gintama was to encourage Mr. Oonishi. Let me be clear, Oda sensei is a very nice person. He has a big heart, just like Luffy. But his aura is overwhelming. We worms wriggle before its fiery radiance. There's nothing wrong with Oda sensei, but Mr. Oonishi is a mess. I couldn't help thinking the editorial department had lost its mind. But Mr. Oonishi is leaving Gintama, so I can finally say--and I think anyone who's worked with Mr. Oonishi will vertify this--the he plays with his dinger during meetings. Well, not in every meeting, but he sometimes unzips his fly, puts his hand down his pants, and fumbles around while he's talking. Whenever I ask him what he's doing, he says, "My belly itches." But he's obviously touching himself. He was doing it in the middle of a Gintama meeting! If he does that in front of Oda sensei. he'll get worse than a Gum-Gum Punch. Another guy might be able to talk his way out of it by claiming he was just putting the car in second gear, but Mr. Oonishi isn't that quick-witted. He'll tear off his gearshift.

In other news, finished Death Note for the 4th time about 30 minutes ago. I have to say, for me Death Note is the only series that you can watch again, again, again and again and still be left speechless and in awe once it's over. Without a doubt, not only one of the best anime series ever made, but also one of the best series ever made, period. So damn good.

They probably became aware of this section due to the recent threads in feedback (apparently loads of people didn't even know there was an anime section). I did say there are a lot more anime fans on this forum than those that post here, but most of them just lurk around the graphics section and occasionally post drawings of characters.

Glad to see poems and books being posted about as well. Finally this section is being used correctly.

Now, off to watch the new series of Kaiji I go!

Bad aswell that they havent even announced it or gave reasons why. I really dont like Viz and they way they run there buissness.
Really angers me thay they get away with it to. same with the Monster anime. 1 boxset and then nothing didnt tell anyone so people spent like $40-50 on a boxset that will never be complete.

Funimation has stopped releases btu atleast they tell you why and in dragonballs case came out with a better release anyway >.<

Usually I like Viz. Not only do they release all of the mainstream stuff, but they release a lot of obscure and less well known titles. They have a very good and a very mixed library and I am glad I can own things like Solanin, Gogo Monster, Tekkonkinkreet and Blue Spring. But with that said, they sure do mess around their customers a lot and hardly ever print enough manga volumes.

Half of the entire series of Evangelion is impossible to find, yet the series is still being published. Viz released the 12th volume in English a couple of weeks ago, but don't they realise that they're not going to get any new buyers unless they print more copies of the other volumes? What's the point in continuing the manga when people can't even buy half of the series.

They really do bring my piss to a boil sometimes.

I don't buy anime and manga to support the companies in Japan. If I buy a series it's because I loved it and believe it's worth owning. Plus I like buying manga because actually physically owning it and reading it from a book is infinitely better than reading it off a computer screen. Buying anime and manga is no different than buying a DVD or a novel.

Totally agree. Me and a couple of friends were marathoning it last year but stalled ten episodes from the end. Should really rally them up and finish it. The climax is amazing however many times you see it.

Please tell me by movie you're not referring to that abomination 'The Last Airbender'. That is, without a doubt, the worst film I have ever seen. And if you are, why was it a nice treat because you hadn't had time to watch the last episodes? The movie only covers the first season. If we're actually talking about the same thing I suggest you watch the last epsiodes of the series as soon as you can, because they're absolutely amazing.

On an unrelated note...

I've watched a couple more episodes of Nana and I have to say I am really enjoying it. I'm often sceptical about drama and romance series as they tend to be overdone in anime, making the drama cringe-worthy and the romance absolutely fake, but Nana really hits the nail on the head. I don't know why it's labelled as a shoujo series though, it's more josei.

I watched it again last month for the 4th time in total. :P It's hard to imagine that among the thousands of anime series and movies there are, there's one that continues to stand out so greatly. Well, for me anyway. I had forgotten how good the soundtrack was until recently.

Just finished Nana... the ending was so bittersweet. Watching the series this past month has been so good, I feel so empty now it's over. Time to start the manga, I guess. Hope they make a second series one day. Out of all the anime series I have seen, Nana is one of very few I don't think I'll ever forget.

Arguing about anime is pointless on this forum because 99% of the people on here are either ignorant or couldn't care less. I recommended some anime films in a thread in the film section asking for animated films and they were promptly discarded because 'they're anime' - as if there is a difference. I'm so glad I discovered anime and don't have to live my days in ignorance. People with even the slightest interest in visual media are missing out on so much if they completely disregard anime. It's such a diverse and interesting medium that is always pumping out everlasting greatness and potential. I can't understand the mentality of someone who can says they dislike anime, because to me that's like saying you dislike music.

Expo next weeeeeeeek. Got my tickets, hotel is booked, loaded with cash - can't wait! Hoping to get a few anime series on DVD, need some new anime that I can actually watch on my TV. If you liked the Bebop film then just wait until you watch the series! Unless of course you have already. :P You should check out Sword of the Stranger and Ghost in the Shell, too. Both essential anime films and of course everything from Satoshi Kon and most of Miyazaki's works and Death Note is the essential series.

I think it's a stupid decision on behalf of the MCM to let the Big Brother people attend. They're going to be undercover and will be 'mixing' with the crowd, looking for potential applicants. my fave anime/manga ouran high has been confirmed as a drama. i am so happyyy considering the manga finished a year ago and the anime finished 2006 so the ending was pretty unsatisfactory and incomplete. not to mention my favourite actor yusuke yamamoto is main character (who also happens to be my fave manga/anime character ever)

Because it is epic. mate at worked watched it all within 3 months. mind you he skipped filler arcs.

I'm guessing there will be about 3 more past episodes then be a filler arc. Pretty sure they would announce the timeskip eps before they air and also the new opening will probs be around for 20 more eps i reckon. I can see a ep for each strawhat aswell leading up to it similar to enies lobby flashbacks.

I didn't really watch my money at the Expo, ended up spending about £250, including hotel, travel and food. Bought volume one to twenty one of Nana, the two disc edition of Evangelion 1.11, the final two volumes of the Gurren Lagann anime, some pocky, a domo-kun plush and a Lion Man calendar and first series of the Lion Man on DVD, both of which I got signed by the Lion Man. Wanted to buy Wolf's Rain but Beez didn't have it. :( Thought about buying Trigun and Berserk but didn't bother. :P
