They either have them fully off or Dim. So your eyes can adjust to the outside conditions if its night. But I have been on flights where the cabin lights were on for like take off etc.

Ok problem sorted. All I had to do to fix this was delete vatsim.dll from the network folder in squawkbox - it was the connection to vatsim through the program loading which was causing the trouble. I can still connect to vatsim by putting the ip in manual in squawkbox :).

Hello there.


Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). Used in radio traffic when the origin of a dispatch is expressed in GMT, ie "1700 ZULU".

Definition: Also known as UTC (Universal Time Coordinated), was GMT (Greenwich Mean Time)- Zulu time is the standard time used for flight operations globally.


Edit: Zulu time is just 1 hour backwards in our normal time. Except when we change our clocks backwards. We would be GMT so we be in Zulu time. If I think that's right.

Hello there, You can take screen shots thats fine. Use a program called "FSScreen" so when your press "Print Screen" button it will auto save them. Also you can't use "Shift+F etc" to follow any players on vatsim.

I now have the complaint regarding your mentoring on Liverpool Tower and the
alleged spat between yourself and Adam Cooke.

I need you to be frank and honest in your version of events as at present
the allegation is that :

The R/T was full of ********
each other off and winding each other up, very little of it being
found in CAP413 and most it doing nothing but make a complete farce
of the mentoring session and of Vatsim-UK's high standards.

The Northern RTS has recently been under the spotlight for persistent poor
behaviour and quite frankly schoolboy attitudes and pranks; that saying we
are not holding you responsible for that, but as a mentor we do expect you
to ensure high standards are maintained.
Quite frankly I do not accept that it is just a Joke as it offended a pilot
who was on frequency which is a clear breach of the CoC A.1.
If one person is offended then it is not acceptable - I am of mind to
recommend you get your mentoring rights back but I am not sure how long it
will be before we have another incident of this type.

The idea of practising an emergency is fine and has to be done but not at
the detriment of other pilots or the controller being mentored.

I welcome your comments Daniel before making my final decision to Simon
regarding your mentoring rights.

I look forward to your reply so I can close this off asap.

Thanks for the response - You are correct in your assumption that Adam Cooke
does seem to be at the heart of things with James not far behind - The NRTS
is a problem at present and we are trying to clean it up and make it a
decent place to learn once again - Liverpool and Manchester are vital to
that and I hope there will be no more of this type of incident - I accept it
is hard for you to stop them doing ad hoc things but that is what the
.wallop is for if they do not stop when asked.

I will rec to Simon that you have your mentoring rights returned but have to
warn that any further incidents may result in permanent removal.

Adam Cooke did nothing wrong, everything CAP413 bar a few jokes.. Which you did indeed contribute too.

When you asked us to stop, we stopped.. The only extra thing I asked for where the emergency services to be on stand waiting for us - CAP413 doesn't have the prasology for that so i'm pretty sure "Easy 5437, is it possible to have the ambulance service on stand 5 waiting for our arrival?" covers that in a very professional and such CAP413 like manor.

When I made a remark on final approach to 27 Mr. Green asked us to stop and use private message as other aircraft where on the frequency – To which all parties complied with, immediately.

I really would appreciate a reply, please don’t put this down to “another Adam Cooke email”.

i just wanna email you to inform you Mr Cooke Seems to think the blame lies with him on this allegation, but i think at he end of the day as a mentor i should have done something about it at the start i just dont want to see another members being banned over this matter when i should have done something when this happed and not made comment which was not really in the CAP413 manual so there for im sorry that i did which this wont happed.

but i can't speak for the other but i dont think james or adam would do it again as adam noes He will get banned for.

Press Shift + P then 1 or 2. It pushes back so far then it either turns left or right depending if you pushed 1/2. I know this works, as I use this myself.

speed up use throttle on Joystick

On keybored F4 for Full or F3 to go up slowly
Wen landed hold F2 to slow down and then go into reverse thrust
Or u can use autopilot eg IAS HOLD IS SPEED HOLD so in the IAS/MACH box put what u want e.g. 250 then hit the IAS switch and the A/T (auto throttole) switch to let the autopilot do it its self to switch on the auto pilot click on the A/P switch

If the pilot is rubbish flying, then maybe he/she will overshoot the runway. If its an aircraft like the PMDG which has Auto brakes which could be set to like 1/2/3/4 or Max. To slow down the aircraft along side with reverse thrust and air brake then I guess the plane will not over shoot. If your worried about it on the smaller runway then your used to fly something smaller. Just to let you know, I should be flying the PMDG 747 on this flight.

The air brake is also known as the "Speed Brake" you normally press "/" to activate it. Flaps would also help to slow down as well :)
