-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello Simmers,
Today jetScotland put in an offer for MetroAir virtuals' Boeing 737-200Adv aircraft.
The offer consisted of 6 732s' in perfected working condition. After a full inspection of all aircraft, jetScotland's CEO (Samuel Millar) put in an offer to Metros' very own Marc McCoy and is awaiting approval. There may be some comprimise.
More updates soon.
Regards,
Samuel Millar

It's free and most commercial pilots come out of the RAF.
if you think the RAF get's you nowhere then you may need to get a life.
RAF is good because you get free training/pilot licence which you usually would have to pay for.

Is it because he said FL60 and the controller didn't understand it as 6000ft?

Its not that he didn't understand it, its that a flight level isn't entirely as accurate to a aircrafts altitude, there is different pressure setting etc.

I'm a bit confused at this forum. I've heard of it before, but in Flight Simulator, do you actually have to fly it for like 28 hours or so?
iAdam
07-05-2008, 06:23 AM
Well no you do not fly for 28 hours as that isn't realistic you do it in many hops.
For example me and tawm may be doing a flight tonight from Manchester to Heathrow to Paris back to Heathrow and back to Manchester but there is a thing called time acceleration but that just spoils the fun. Longest flight I've done was about 7 hours rounded up.
Tom have you heard of FSNavigator? It's like an fmc and you can use it with any aircraft.

Mattch
07-05-2008, 07:53 PM
You basicly search for flights that u can do (i suggest just checking the search for current rank) it has a set depart and arrive time,
E.g 16:30 - 17:30
When you book it you need to pick if u do it online or offline and if u want to do the fixed time (16:30) or change it (11:00 maybe)
You then do the flight and fill out a pirep, Fuel taken, Fuel left, Time off blocks, Time
on blocks and then it gets added on.
Please note: Its a FIXED aircraft, you cannont change the aircraft type

I only use two - BAV OSP and BAV ACARS - and I fly perfectly fine. ACARS only requires you to update only once an hour, so what the hell are you on about? If your PC cannot run three programs in one go then you should look at upgrading :)

Go on mate it's worth it.
I am just asking for a little help (But really its quite alot!).
I was wondering I never get what do do when starting a flight, push-backs, taxi'ing ect...
I was wondering If I could get a bit of help on;
Starting off, e.g like push backs - What to do.
ATC, What should I say (I have read other guides on forum) - Guidance
Taxi'ing, any speeds? or routes I should take - Guidance
Check list? What lights or whatever - Information
Taking off, what kts do I take off ect... - Information
Airborne, What do I do once airborne? - Guidance
Landing, what flaps ect and ATC I use - Information
Once landed, what do I do? - GuidanceNow, I am desperate on joining a Virtual Airline, But I wanna make sure I can cope. I'd say If I could get the information above I could be using a VA within 1-2 weeks.
I know many VA's do tutoring or whatever its called to help you but I don't want to look a fool.
Many thanks and rep+ will be awarded.
Sorry for the colorfulness! I tried to make it as friendly as possible!!!

Taxi'ing, any speeds? or routes I should take - Guidance

Ok, 20KTS, isn't maximum 30kts? But thats good, I will note this down.

ATC, What should I say (I have read other guides on forum) - Guidance
k um, cus im bored
sometimes you may want to do a radio check to see how the controller is reading you
"BAW123, radio check"
the controller will probably say
"BAW123 *controller position*, hello, readability *1 - 5, 1 being very unclear and 5 being crystal clear
Then when you're ready you need to request clearance. This may vary to controllers needs but generally you would say (using an example)
"BAW123, stand xx, type x, with information x, requesting IFR clearance to x"
Then the controller will read back
"BAW123, (will depend on which ATC is online, they will introduce themseleves if you havent done a radio check) xxxx approach/tower/ground hello, you're cleared to madrid via the CPT3R departure squawk 1234 - (note that sometimes after the CPT3R they may say runway and initial altitude, although they shouldnt have to because the intial altitude and runway are all part of the SID) ;)
once you read that back correct and set up your FMC and plane you need to request push and start clearance
"BAW123 requesting push and start" - NOTE that if you havent already given your stand number you should say "BAW123, stand 13, requesting push and start"
the controller then will say "BAW123 push and start is approved, QNH xxxx" - they may say face *north, e
ast, south or west* on taxiway *appropriate taxiway" you then read that back
you will then need to request taxi "BAW123 requesting taxi". the controller then may say something like "BAW123, taxi via link B and H to hold R1, runway 23" you then read that back
once you're at the holding point, if they havent said anything to you when you've been waiting there, just call up with "BAW123 at the hold, ready for departure". the controller will then say "BAW123, winds xxx at xx knots, runway xx, cleared for takeoff". if there is traffic to close to landing that it is not safe for you to takeoff, the controller then may say "BAW123, after the landing Boeing 737, via R1, line up and wait runway xx". You then readback that and line up and wait, until you're given takeoff clearance. With takeoff clearance, you don't need to readback the winds.
once you're airborne, the controller will hand you off to the next appropriate station - eg, "BAW123, contact essex radar, frequency 120.620 bye!". If there is no atc online, you will go to UNICOM (122.800)
hope that helped, if not, feel free to add me -

According to Daniel at BHX, they are not trained for Helicopters.. I searched up VATSIM Helicopters on google yesterday and it seems alot of threads on the VATSIM forums say that they are not trained for it either. - Shame really, 'Kellyhopters' make things interesting.
VATSIM lacks rotor pilots imo.

Hello Simmer,
Every had a controller say to you, "Report Baseleg, or Report Downwind'' ?
With this easy diagram and a little bit of my knowledge we can get you to understand with a few minutes.
"CALLSIGN, Report downwind runway XX."
If you are ever given the instruction above then you need to ''YOURCALLSIGN, Downwind runway 33'' when you are beside the runway. Imagine your aircraft is 'Downwind leg' on the poster. That is where you need to report downwind.
Its that simple, and you just repeat the steps etc for all the different legs etc.
Hope I cleared things up a little.

cocaine
09-05-2008, 07:24 PM
nice guide sam :P very clear :D
what I got taught is that the contoller shouldn't ask you to report downwind - you need to do it. So you just call up saying "on downwind" and state your intentions, eg "G-MATT, on downwind for touch and go" :P
but in some circumstances, such as an overhead join, the controller WILL ask you to report downwind.
iAdam

Correct me if I'm wrong but this is intended for VFR zone arrivals where you will be asked to report downwind.

Lower targets = you hit them more often. Mines on 15.
Nah, all it means is that when it hits that 15fps it will try to keep it at 15fps. No more or no less.
Few pictures in a Typhoon Fighter.
Took off with 2 because can't take off with 3 OBVIOUSLY *rolls eyes*
Nah, the 3rd one magically appeared :O

Actually you can takeoff with 3 ;]

You restart if you crash.
u got mapping issues on one screenie.
Yes, it's the range I've set my textures to appear at.
Or you go back in the air, but I think flight sim x has all the dramatic crashes?
it isn't online, it's the AFS Design eurofighter, it has like the option to fly with 3 aircraft, so u contorl all 3 at once, it's very good, i like it xD

I like them, but I find it hard to look at the pictures without wanting to punch you for adding in the bar codes.
Lmao, I know. I did it for my mate, he said make it look like a post card or something.
Don't worry I won't do it again.
