Hello,

www.***********.co.uk/Flightsim/FSX (http://www.***********.co.uk/Flightsim/FSX)

Tucker asked for some, they aren't great, the GFX were better before I experimented with AA, Still trying to figure out the best setting. Im going to install 2004 now :)

As you can see, on 1 or 2 of them there are tears because RivaTuner isn't doing its job in controlling the GPU fan.

Hopefully will be far better once Ive figured out the right settings on nHancer.

BTW, all settings in FSX are on 'Ultra High'

I love the dynamics of FSX, when you push the throttle to max your head gets shoved back, helping to provide the effect of the power of the engines.

That isn't your setup and I know it isnt for a damn fact. Why get Ultimate? Its a pile of crap, full of features youll never use.

LOL @ THE MOTHERBOARD! They have such bad reviews, withen a couple of months it frys the RAM Channels and have to be RMA'd, also if you had any sense you would get the new 7xx motherboards.

If you were getting a new PC or already had it you would have waited until Febuary for the new 9xxx and got 2 9xxx series GFX Cards instead.

74GB for games and OS? LOL. Ive filled up 100GB already in about 3 days?

You won't be getting 8 hard drives for a simple fact that I *think* the motherboard does not have enough SATA ports for 9 HDs and an Optical Drvie.

The RAM i can't complain about because ive got 4 x 1GB Sticks.

Whats the point in that CPU :|

Also, that setup seams extremely familiar to a guys setup I have seen on a forum ¬_¬

also voice server are playing up a lot due to the numbers of people using them, their is talk of more voice server and upgrades of them.

Hmm cheers.

When I used my old ISP instead of wireless (I didn't have it) I had to use a cable, and I never noticed any jumping issues on SB. I asked another controller (I was observing on VRC) if he noticed any jumping/skipping on his freq and he said yeah and that it was caused by the latency.

Yep, at first I thought it was my internet.. After a bit of investigation I found out that it was indeed VATSIM its self.

Just ask a controller to say again if you missed what he/she was saying to you.

I got Flight Sim X from Game in the sale today and got a joystick.

ILS stands for Istrument landing system and is used in IFR conditions, in an ILS landing there are two parts to it, the localizer and the glidescope.

We'll talk about the localizer first, the localizer is used to guide you onto the glidescope because the glidescope has no frequency of its own for you to use. ATC will give you a heading along with a set of clearances, you follow this heading as normal but also put it into course box on the autopilot, after this input has been given you then press the APP or APR button dependent on the aircraft, the aircraft will then guide itself onto the glidescope.

The glidescope is the part of the landing which guides you down to the runway, after you have intercepted the localizer this is what you will be descending with. doing this part correctly will give you a better chance of landing perfectly and safely. As you descend with the glidescope you have several points in which you have to make a decision. Point 1 is the place where you contact tower just as you intercept the glidescope, point 2 is just after that where you apply flaps, lower gear and decrease speed. Point 3 is at 200 feet above ground level where you decide whether to finish the landing or announce a go-around. If you finish the landing you need to turn all the autopilot off and land as you would normally.

Now we have discussed both parts of the ILS lets put it into a step-by-step procedure. I will use East midlands airport runway 9 and a learjet 45 doing circuits.

1)Tune East midlands ILS frequency (109.35)
2) Take-off procedures as normal and follow atc instructions.
3) I am told to intercept the ILS and turn to heading 125, at this point I input 125 into my course box and push the APR button.
4) The plane will then turn itself onto the glidescope.
5) I will then contact tower and lower flaps, lower gear and reduce my speed.
6) I then descend with the ILS.
7) At 500 feet I decide to continue landing and disengage ALL autopilot settings.
8) I commence flare for landing.
9) I come to a full stop on the runway.

I have completed a full ILS approach and can now taxi and shut down.

For any further information contact me by PM I will get back to you asap. This is my first guide so all comments are welcome.

Thank you all for the great comments, will make some screenies then get a mod to put them in.

In response to the questions;
You put the freq. in the Nav1 and no the east mids freq. doesn't work all around the UK you have to find out the frequencies using VATSIM or another website.

My goal was to get my computer up and running again to post a shot for the end of 2007, and here I am with four... haha.

Here's the shots:
p.s. Before I took off, you may notice a 777 was following a 737 on finals and had to go around in the end; I was like 'lol@you' :)
Good Luck in the new year!

Great guide there, I've learnt a few things from it...namely that it's called a glidesCope not a glidesLope pmsl. But you gotta admit, glidesLope seems more sensible!

Does the east midland 1 work for all aiports in england?

You only put it in when landing at East Midlands, you'll get different frequencies for different airports. The way I use is to click the map, click the runway and it should say on the info section.

You put it in Nav 1, as long as you click the Nav 1 button (meaning this is the active one), it should all work well.

Hope this helped.:)

Certainly not love, it's scarebus.

How does 3 near misses with the runway and terminal and an emergency landing sound to you? - Not good.. Thought so, don't fly scarebus ;)

It's "Glideslope" not glidescope.

Adam!

3) I am told to intercept the ILS and turn to heading 125, at this point I input 125 into my course box and push the APR button.Or not :S

You would put 125 in your HEADING box on your MCP (Autopilot) then press LOC (Localiser)... You need to establish on the LOCALISER before decending with the GLIDESLOPE.

Faliure to fully capture the LOC first could start decending you into mountains.. Not a good way to land your plane, honestly ;)

ILS stands for Istrument landing system and is used in IFR conditions, in an ILS landing there are two parts to it, the localizer and the glideslope.

We'll talk about the localizer first, the localizer is used to guide you onto the glideslope because the glideslope has no frequency of its own for you to use. ATC will give you a heading along with a set of clearances, you follow this heading as normal but also put it into course box on the autopilot, after this input has been given you then press the APP or APR button dependent on the aircraft, the aircraft will then guide itself onto the glideslope.

The glideslope is the part of the landing which guides you down to the runway, after you have intercepted the localizer this is what you will be descending with. Doing this part correctly will give you a better chance of landing perfectly and safely. As you descend with the glideslope you have several points in which you have to make a decision. Point 1 is the place where you contact tower just as you intercept the glideslope, point 2 (fig.4) is just after that where you apply flaps, lower gear and decrease speed.

1)Tune East midlands ILS frequency (109.35) in NAV1 and prepare your flight. (Fig.1)
2) Take-off procedures as normal and follow atc instructions.
3) I am told to intercept the localiser and turn to heading 125, at this point I input 125 into my course box and push the APR button.(Fig.2)
4) The plane will then turn itself onto the glideslope.
5) I will then contact tower and lower flaps, lower gear and reduce my speed.(Fig.3)

Thanks to Adam! and MattGarner for helping me iron out things.

no you put 125 into your heading box and press HDG SEL (Or whatever appropriate button you may have)
