Actually - you get a better experience from flying on VATSIM and tbh I think its what makes a FS Pilot.

If you know what I mean?

Haha. You make me smile :) VATSIM is as real as it can gets but they should let us have a bit of fun? Like I explained above. But I know myke likes flying offline and i don't blame him.

Hey Guys

Controlling the AFIS' fields.. i'm not sure any of you know what its like maybe from the exceptions of one or two however.. the title says it all.

I pretty much can't clear you for anything; ''Take off at your discretion, winds''

''G-MATA, Wellesbourne Information, Good Evening, runway 18, right hand circuit, QFE xxxx''

Some examples ^

But pretty much this is all I can see, and is all i'm aloud to see. (This is what its like IRL also).

Any Questions? Just ask!

This makes AFIS look harder than it is, you can get quite a bit of traffic sometimes aswell.

Well it doesn't make it look harder than it is, because that is what it is.

I think I would rather use binoculars and the old strip flightplan system than controlling as AFIS, this was one thing I was told about when I looked around cranfield, they don't use radar haha

I meant screens not radar.

Scania
13-08-2008, 04:44 PM
I pretty much don't have a screen.. only reason VRC is open is for the fact of the frequency being set up.

I have to write the flight strips by myself on paper.. so technically imagine not of that is there lol

The PAPI in FS2004 works on where the camera is positioned, the camera was below the plane (see screenshot 10) and you were pitched down, therefore too high.

Simmers,

Today I have started work on a bmibaby virtual web design. This will possibly contribute towards a friends site.. if not I will keep it for when jetScotland is established and me and Scott will probs start this project. Please be advised that the design is still a WIP and I will keep you posted as it starts evolving.

Hey guys,
Done a flight today, LOWW - EDDF, carrying a special guest, a Kanine who had been searching through the wreckage of an Indian earthquake was in cabin, as he is a special dog.

He then decides that shortly after take off, he is in need of a call of nature and also needs a drink- we decide to divert to EDDF.

Even an average GFX card will run FSX fairly well, it's whether or not you have a processor that can handle it. I'm have an 8600GT and all my settings are between medium high and high with antroscopic filtering and AA :] plus fsx has better multiplayer support

If you can get to the airport then why can't you find the airport lol?

You must be able to find the airport if you say you can get to it :S

gps might help in some cases if you lose the airport?

search google for help with the fsx gps because its abit complicated to talk about it without pics

Sorry if I gave bad help but I don't understand fully what you're asking help on :S

And I'll fly multiplayer some time, I only just started playing fsx again so I need to get practising :D

Even an average GFX card will run FSX fairly well, it's whether or not you have a processor that can handle it. I'm have an 8600GT and all my settings are between medium high and high with antroscopic filtering and AA :] plus fsx has better multiplayer support

Guys, it still needs a powerful graphics card. The CPU does the calculating, the GPU does the rendering. If you had a 10Ghz Octo-Core and a 8500GT, it would still run crap

i have all the minimum req's but not the recommended

i only failed here: Video Card

You Have: 128MB ATI RADEON X600 SE (RADEON X600 SE (0x5B62))

FAIL: Sorry, your video card does not meet this recommended requirement. Upgrading to a more powerful video card will make all your applications look better.

I'm sure FS2004 does work on vista, I've seen Twamu post some screen shots on vista and he uses FS2004 I think.

Yea, I use FSX and FS2004 on Vista, both work perfect :)

I'm using the default 747 because I haven't had time to download many add-ons yet :)

I flew out of Heathrow and over London then went back to Heathrow (with a bit of a bad landing :P)

Hey

Went out for a test flight, I have some EGLL scenery on the download so these shots are default.

No editing apart from black bars to rid of explorer etc...

CBA to resize.

Crap at shot taking, I still need to figure out how to fly the 742, its so different from the 744!

I've just installed it and I love it, is such an improvement from the FS2004 default London scenery/textures.

But there is one big problem, the river/ground texture is out of line with the scenery.

Its nothing to do with which version you have.. its all to do with the terrain mesh.

Hey there, I've been playing FSX for a little while now and have noticed how airports are never really busy.. I know there are various traffic add-ons out there that replicate real world flights, and I would appreciate it if anyone could link me to one! Thanks :D

Also, I could do with some help on an ILS landing, could anyone go through it with me on Multiplayer? If you have xfire add me: tomshadow, other wise PM me on the forum!

Thanks alot.

Been looking everywhere and only copies I can find are 1.0 which doesn't work on Vista..

Posted in this section as it's kinda related to flight sim.

Myself and Tom flew from Italy to London heathrow last night on the Vatsim network, good flight. Not many shots, but the first two are tom coming into land and the other two are of me one in cruise and one on approach :)
