For some reason on all planes with jet engines i hear no sound inside the cockpit of the engine when on the gorund. It's only when taking off that the engine sounds come back, and they sound like they're powering up. It's the same when landing, engines power down and go silent yet when i switch to an outside view the sound is there.

Anybody know what's up?

Probably a missing sound file. Input all of your FSX disks untill you see a folder called sound, when you do, replace it with the one in the FSX directory.

Haha, whilst I was taking-off I was distracted >.> and crashed into the runway as I raised the nose; but then decided to land else where. :P

These are just effects from the plane though, no actual issue with the plane in terms of controlling it. :P

Well this year the new Train Simulator is coming out, they haven't released one since 2000. Could have something to do with it. For me fsx is the best simulator and will probably remain that for a good number of years to come. We will now have to rely on 3rd party addons for almost everything.

Haven't flown in a while, but decided to do some lately. Okay so I have two questions. First, how do you get shiny planes...mine always seem dull (see the picture.) And second, how do I get rid of the jagged edges on and around my plane and make them look smooth...Is there a shiny and jagged setting or something ;D

Go to Flight Sim Options, and set the graphcis to Ultra High, as for jagged, set up some anti aliasing, whats your specs?

Well im not exactly an expert with this stuff, so dont take my word on this, but to my understanding thats an internal card in the motherboard, so you cant actully replace that unless you buy another motherboard or something..

Try Technical Problems, Those guys know a hell of a lot more than me and should be able to tell you XD

As for the first question, I found a series of tutorials on YouTube that were quite useful to understand the concept. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ClAUdn3ja1Q. If you go along, pause it etc, it works well. I think there are about 6 or 7 parts to it.

As for the second question, I am not sure, I havent flown for ages.

erm, you can't just set your AP to co-ordinates.

For basic flying (not recomended) you have to set heading
For better flying (advanced), the FMC does it for you.

Yes, but how do I work out the heading from the co-ordinates in relation to the plane?

Well, you need to add all the images too a folder in what ever model your using, for example, go to Programme Files and settings, find the FS9 Folder (Usually in Microsoft games folder) then Aircraft, then if its a 737-600 or W.E you go in that folder, make a folder called Texture.QA and add all images in there, then edit the Aircraft.cfg file and add a filmstrip or w.e they're called!

Never use a keyboard lol, I would say any joystick with a throttle would do well. My first one was £2 and it worked perfectly but I upgraded to a £25 for the style!

Saitek X52 user here, great product. But Logitech do some nice joysticks also :)

I got a Logitech 20 odd quid one back in October time, for me it was fine as I was not advanced or anything. If you are pro and keen, like some of the members above are, then perhaps splash out further.
